Probably the only album i can think of that i would rate 100/100
I listen it from time to time on full and it always hits so much. Just straight peak
Represents exactly the different moments of the year. And besides that, it's pretty nostalgic for me since my teachers used to play it when i was in elementary school LOL
My ranking:
Winter > Fall > Summer > Spring
But they are all perfect
Another short and fun EP from Tems. With some really nice production
This one was more enjoyable than "For broken tears" ngl. The best song was Replay imo.
I wanted to check out some Afrobeats and saw this EP was short so i thought, WHY NOT!?!??!
It's a fun listen and all songs are pretty good. However i wasn't crazy with any of these songs except maybe Free Mind which is pretty good
Naaaah, this albums is STRAIGHT PEAK, and just pure vibes.
This album just takes me straight to summer. It's the perfect music for a roadtrip or going to the beach. It's full of peak cuts like "Travelling band", "Run through the jungle" or "Lookin out my backdoor" which absolutely slap.

Being honest i have loads of good memories tied with most of the songs in this album cause i used to listen to it a lot when i was little during the summer.

Just like Silk Sonic this is a flawless feel-good album where all songs are
However i think that in here Anderson.paak manages to keep the whole project at a higher level than in Silk Sonic.
The first songs were pretty good but it is once you reach "Am i wrong" that the album starts getting MUCH BETTER.
The production is very groovy and Anderson with his unique vocals does it greatly.
Maybe if it had more highs it would have ranked higher though.
Second D'Angelo listen
This one was incredibly solid too! Just like Brown sugar.
The production was on point at all times, with some crazy good instrumentation.
I must say that it had less highs that Brown Sugar though and the ones in Brown Sugar were much better than the highs here.
There were also some vocal styles D'Angelo did here which i wasn't the biggest fan of.
GRRRR🐶!!!
Was DMX the first furry rapper???
Nah jokes aside, this album surprised me quite a lot. I wasn't expecting it to be this good.
DMX has a unique and fun delivery, this is not mentioning of course his good lyricism throughout here even if at times it gets very weird and maybe TOO DARK (ahem, X- is coming)
There were some great heat in here, mainly "Ruff Ryders Anthem" and "Stop Being Greedy"
The production was absolute killer throughout it, it was prob my ... read more
It's crazy how underrated this album is
On "Lover's Rock" Sade delivers another great listen. With crazy production and as always some top notch vocals.
The first 5 song run was shaping this album to be on the level of her classics from the 80s and 90s. However it fell down in quality later on. With the song despite being good they didn't make a big impression on me, apart from maybe "Lover's rock"
Another great listen from the goat Erykah Badu
This project it's actually so slept on. THe production throughout this is FIIIIRE. All the songs are really solid.
However i think there were some stylistic choices that from E.Badut that kinda stopped this project from reaching the potential it could have reached, things like weird skits at the end stopped some of the songs from being better.
I must say that another issue was the lack of big highs that other Erykah albums including New ... read more
This album was out of my comfort zone yet HOLY CRAP, this is REALLY good.
I originally found it thanks to Lil B (thank you based god) sampling "Just For Now", which is an incredible song on its own, probably one of the best i have ever heard.
Loved that song so much i decided to check out this project on full. The production in this is sooooo good and ethereal as well, it mixes perfectly with Imogen Heap's vocals which are such a vibe. The first half is INCREDIBLY solid and with ... read more
Memphis rap is probably one of the coolest and most interesting regional sounds in Hip-Hop.
In this project these guys bring in some eerie and hard beats which matched with their unique delivery ends up with this really nice album.
However i don't see this as the type of rap album that needs 16 tracks all of them +4 minutes. It gets stale after a while without changes in production or in the type of song.
I must agree that the influence of this album is undeniable.
The best track is ... read more
One of the most interesting and unique albums i have ever heard, what genre is it...jazz???
Anyways if i could describe this album in one world it's "Rollercoaster". This album has 19 tracks but it lasts only like 35 minutes which means that it's jam packed with loads of stuff.
It starts alright but once we get to "Never catch me" it picks up and we get an insane song run of bangers. Towards the 3rd 4th it goes back to being okay only to end greatly once ... read more
This is the same guy that made "Poland" and "Minnesota", let that Sink in.
Lil Yachty has probably one of the best evolution of any recent artist. This album is the best evidence of it.
The production in here is nuts, absolutely marvelous, also the many hidden features enchanced all the songs so much with their voices.
All the songs were good with no misses.
You know the main problem though??? And it sadly can't be fixed....Yachty himself 😭
His vocals are kind of a ... read more
Not as fire as Paranoid but still another solid listen from these guys.
It picks up towards the end, with the last 3 song run being sooo fire.
Holy cow this is FIRE!
I had always kind of never cared about The Weeknd but recently i decided to check out this mixtape. The production was amazing and easily my favourite part of it, it blended effortlessly with The Weeknd's vocals which as always they were amazing.
The album had some real HEAT, like "House of Baloons/Glass Table Girls" and "The Party and the Afterparty".
My main criticism would be that there were some songs here that were slightly behind from the ... read more
A really good and chill r&b album.
I'm not the biggest fan of super-slow r&b with minimalistic production but this one worked out for me for the most part. Much better than for example Blonde by Frank Ocean.
The album starts with a super fire cut which is "Get you" with Kali Uchis, the rest of the tracklist is very enjoyable but none of it blew me away or i considered it amazing or groundbreaking.
Daniel Caesar has great vocals throughout it
A few months ago i checked out the Atl-Liens and Aquemini. Both were insanely good, specially Aquemini which is one of my fav albums. The only logical step was to check out Stankonia
Stankonia was sooooo good. I was kinda expecting it to drag on because of the big ammount of skits and interludes and the whole thing lasting 1h 13min. But NO! The songs were all so fire that the album felt much shorter than it was

I wanted to try out my local files so i decided to check out this project, cause why not
I mean...eh...it's not awfull. Like there are not truly BAD songs, except maybe DRIVE which is just such a mess.
I must say that this mixtape has AN AMAZING song in here which is "Upper Echelon" easily one of the hardest trap songs ever.
And then things like Blocka la Flame, Hell of a Night and Quintana definately slap
But like the rest are just painfully generic and offer nothing ... read more
I'm very conflicted as to what grade give to this album.
On one hand i had heard most of these tracks separately and they all hit hard as hell. But at the same time the full listen of this album didn't hit nearly as hard as i was expecting. Maybe it was me constantly looking up the meaning of each song to the story in genius, or maybe the skits that stopped the album from flowing perfectly and giving me a sense of being one of the best albums ever. The density of the storytelling ... read more
