Black Sabbath - Paranoid
89

Wanted to check out something out of my comfort zone so decided to give this record a listen

Most of these songs i had heard them before from my father playing them, but on a full listen i must say this thing hit pretty damn hard

The short tracklist makes it so there are no misses! Except maybe track 3 which seemed out of place tbh.
There were also some cool highs in this, specially the obvious ones Paranoid and Iron Man (i know i know, safe picks)

I would say however that i'm not crazy ... read more

Young Thug - On the Rvn
78

A short and fun EP from Thug!
There is nothing here out of the ordinary but overall it's solid!
Crazy how a song with Elton John and Thug is actually really solid ahahha

Kali Uchis - Isolation
87

The late 2010s were such a good era for R&B!!!

Ctrl, A Seat on the Table, IGOR, ANTI and Kali Uchis' Isolation!

This album was SOOOO GOOD. Incredibly solid, with 0 misses even the song in spanish which i thought i wouldn't enjoy was kinda lit, AHHAHA
It also had some real heat highs specially "Like a stranger", "Tyrant" and "Dead to me". Really neat the production as well which perfectly matches with Kali Uchis vocals.

What stops it from being ... read more

Solange - When I Get Home
82

With how good of a listen "A seat on the table" was i was pretty hyped to check out the follow up "When i get home"

This album had some VERY big highs probably tied with those from "ASOTT", like Almeda, Binz or Almeda (very amazing carti feature btw). However there weren't as many as in ASOTT.

Also it was much less solid than her previous project, there were more songs which i didn't care about and overall the album didn't flow as well.

This is ... read more

Kid Cudi - Man On The Moon: The End Of Day
88

An oustanding project from Kid Cudi!!!

With some amazing production, catchy choruses and great vocals, Kid Cudi has no misses throughout this entire album.
Throught the project we are engulfed by this amazing nightime and almost trippy vibe, with even some very nice highs across the tracklist.

Kid Cudi delivered a top 5 rap album of the 00s, NO DOUBT!

Young Thug - Beautiful Thugger Girls
80

My 4th Young Thug project

This one was vastly different from the Thug i'm used to listening, since in this album he took such a mellodic and country-inspired aproach!
I must say that at the first songs i wasn't very used of this sound nor was i liking it very much, but as the tracklist advanced the songs started hitting HARDER and HARDER. The album however still lacked big high points seen in the other Young Thug mixtapes from the same era

Hopefully it will grow more on me, but for ... read more

Drake - Take Care
86

It's crazy that this album doesn't have +80 on user score. This album REALLY DESERVES IT

Drake really delivered a classic-tier album with "Take Care". Prob his most R&B record and his most chill one at that, with loads of songs with an impeccable Late-Night vibe!
It also had some of the highest highs of any Drake album, specially Headlines which is his best song EVER. I must say one of my fav parts of the album is the great production and how it perfectly matches ... read more

SZA - SOS
83

It was about time i checked out the second SZA album!!

As a big fan of SZA's CTRL, an album which grows more and more the more i listen to it i was hyped as hell to listen to SOS

It definately delivered with a long ass tracklist...maybe kinda too long full of great songs! And some nice gems here and there

However it also had a lot of songs which i considered more mediocre or generic which i kinda didn't care about but still were good either way.

I think that while awesome this ... read more

Kendrick Lamar - Section.80
85

Another great album from Kendrick!!!

Section 80 started out kinda mixed, with some mid songs in the first half such as "No make up" or "Tammy's song" however it all improved siginificantly past "Chapter Six"!!!

We got an amazing run of crazy hitting songs front to back. All of those with some great rapping from Kendrick.

I must say however that it lacked the big highs that other Kendrick Albums are characterized for

Aaliyah - Aaliyah
91

First of all, RIP Aaliyah 🕊️
Second of all...HOLY FUCK....this album was incredible, one of the most solid R&B records i have ever heard.

Timbaland did an amazing work with this bouncy and fun production, which matched perfectly with Aaliyah's amazing vocals. There wasn't a single low point in the tracklist, i was honestly tempted to add the whole thing to my playlist AHAHAH

And the best part, it's that it had some very fire highs, specially the opening and closing ... read more

Nina Simone - Pastel Blues
85

Was on the mood for something older today i guess....ahahhha

This album had some very nice and chill jazz, very good for late night vibes, Nina Simone has such a good voice and her vocals are absolutely crazy throughout this album.
There were one or 2 songs i kinda wasn't feeling it, specially "Strange fruit" which i don't see the fuzz around...that production was so basic and simple i found it kinda boring (what makes it so good, being sampled by Kanye???)

Either way the ... read more

D'Angelo - Brown Sugar
88

Another Neo-Soul project i wanted to check out, and wow! This one did not dissapoint in the slightest!!!

D'Angelo delivered here a true classic with great vocals and some amazing chill production.

In my first listens of D'Angelo i was kinda taken back because of his vocals, but after getting used to them i decided to check out the album. This album was banger packed front to back, with some very nice highs like "Lady", "When we get by" and "Alright"

I ... read more

Bob Marley & The Wailers - Exodus
92

One of the best albums out there, just pure summer/beach vibes even when though i listened to this while outside on the street it's -2ºC celsius 😅

Bob Marley with Exodus made an almost perfect Reggae album. With amazing singing, amazing production and a tracklist which HITS
through the whole length. And with gems of songs like Exodus, Three Little Birds and One Love. Songs like #8 and #2 were a little more normal and just good, which stopped this album from having a higher ranking ... read more

Silk Sonic - An Evening With Silk Sonic
82

I came with this completely blindfolded and with no idea what to expect, and i must say this was a pretty enjoyable listen!!!

This must be one of the most happy-sounding albums i have heard, it's just fun songs with that classic vibe and funky production. Bruno Mars and Anderson.Paak have some ver nice vocals in this and they complement each other very well!!

I must say there weren't any song i went crazy over or found amazing, explaining why the grade isn't higher. But it was ... read more

JAY-Z - Reasonable Doubt
91

The last Jay-Z classic album i had left to review, i had pushed it back for months, and IT DID NOT DISSAPOINT at all!!

Although less original than his other classics, Reasonable Doubt probably has the higher highs in Jay-Z's discography

With an almost flawless first 8-song run we have Jay-Z in his prime with amazing rapping and over some banger beats, specially "Dead Presidents ii" which is honestly one of the best songs from Hip-Hop ever. This album is great cause not only it ... read more

Michael Jackson - Thriller
91

HOLY, people weren't lying, this album is incredible
This album feels like a compilation, cause it literally has classic hit after classic hit.
I had heard a big bunch of these from my parents playing them when i was little, and i was kinda expecting to like these songs less due to this. But no, not at all, they were such hard hitters. Apart from maybe 2 that i didn't care much about

Lil Wayne - Tha Carter III
87

Absolutely baffled that this doesn't have a higher user rating. This album is not only one of the best rap albums of the 2000s it's also a cornerstone in Hip-Hop and one of the most influential projects in the genre (it went on to influence Kendrick, Future, Thug, Drake and literally all the big names of the following decade in hiphop)

Lil Wayne delivers not only a tracklist that is banger after banger, they are also very fun and original songs! Like Dr Carter where he is a doctor, ... read more

Beyoncé - Lemonade
79

The praise this album has gotten in the last years is absolutely crazy, so i was very intrigued to see if it's as good as they say.
I must say it's very interesting, it's pretty unique and varied, with ballads, country and trap all in one album.
However the album had a severe lack of highs or songs i considered to be great, apart from a couple like "6 inch", "Hold up" and the amazing "Freedom" (def not me glazing Kendrick)
The songs had some weird ... read more

Amy Winehouse - Back to Black
83

A very good listen in general.
There are some VERY fire songs in here, and in general the lows aren't too bad.

I just wasn't crazy over it

Rihanna - ANTI
85

After putting it back for some months i finally decided to check out this album on full.
And wow....i was VERY impressed. This is one of the best R&B albums of the 2010s.

Rihanna is one of the biggest pop artists of the century, her hits are a big part of my childhood due to this, her music is incredibly nostalgic.
However she has always been an artist that relied more on big fire hit singles over making solid albums with no filler.

ANTI however is the opposite of that. It's such a ... read more
