Janet Jackson - The Velvet Rope
91

An incredibly peak r&b album.

Everything from the production to the singing was stellar and top tier. Janet delivered both bangers and slow jams in this project while still mantaining the quality. Apart from "What about" and "Free Xone" (which not bad, just flawed in some aspect) all the songs were good enough as to be added to my playlist
Something not many times happens with albums to me.

Together again has become my fav song of the moment, XD

Denzel Curry - TA13OO
86

Denzel Curry delivered here a very hard-hitting album, full of bangers and with great rapping performances.

Although not on the level of Melt My Eyez Taboo is prob one of the best trap albums ever. Not only hard hitting but also original.

There were some songs that maybe i considered kinda average though.

Best song definately "Sirens"

Erykah Badu - New Amerykah Part Two: Return of the Ankh
84

Considering how talked about Erykah's first 2 albums are compared to this one i didn't have super high expectations on this one. But i was surprised by how well made this album is

Of course it doesn't have any masterpiece song like Baduizm or Mama's Gun but overall the album was close to the level of the other 2

Surprised the album doesn't have higher user rating

Tyler, The Creator - Flower Boy
85

I really liked this album

Tyler managed to bring fun songs as well as very beautiful ones. The first half specially was REALLY solid, the features all delivered in here.

Of course there were some songs here and there that i was kinda mixed in but overall the praise is totally deserved.

(Still i stand on my ground that the best 2017 rap album is 4:44 though)

Frank Ocean - Blonde
72

Imma be honest and say that for the most part i didn't get the fuzz around this one

I found this to be a boring listen in many aspects, Frank Ocean also did some very weird choices with his voice in some moments. Apart from Nights and Solo Reprise i didn't care for most songs

Idk if it's the production or the whole style but it wasn't nowhere near the level of Channel Orange.

Frank Ocean - channel ORANGE
85

I wasn't crazy on it like many people say, but overall it was a really enjoyable listen.

The album started out being good but it got better on the second half. Peaking with Pyramids.

Frank Ocean is one of the few male singers whose voice i have managed to enjoy and after listening to this album i wanna check out blonde now.

JPEGMAFIA - I LAY DOWN MY LIFE FOR YOU
84

I officially became a Hoe-scarer after listening this album!!

Jokes aside was surprised by how much i enjoyed this album. I expected to find this pretty mixed considering how mixed i am on other experimental projects like Yeezus. But DAMN...this was both experimental but incredibly fun and enjoyable at the same time

Can't wait to check out more of Peggy's stuff

Drake - Nothing Was the Same
85

This album is probably the perfect mix of R&B and Rapping Drake. I still need to listen and rate Take Care but this might be the best Drake project.

From the amazing rap cuts like Tuscan Leather and Pound Cake, to the R&B hits like Hold On We're going Home or a mix of both like Furthest Thing. This album takes what makes Drake great and makes it as polished and improved as we have ever seen.

Only problem would be some more mid tracks and the...kinda bad song 305 to my city.

Solange - A Seat at the Table
87

A really great Alternative R&B project

Solange's vocals are so good. Not to mention how great the production is overall and the importance of the lyrics.

Mad with Wheezy has become one of my fav RnB songs ever.

The 2nd half did fell off a little bit, but it was still good. A little complain would be how many interludes this has.
It doesn't a stop it however from being one of the best R&B projects of the 2010s

KIDS SEE GHOSTS - KIDS SEE GHOSTS
84

Idk how the hell i forgot to review this one

The best Kanye project of the last 7 years. Cudi and Kanye worked really well together

Originally i would have rated it an 88 but since it's been a while since i heard it it has grew off me. So now it's an 84

Evanescence - Fallen
86

I literally came here from the meme and stayed cause this album is peak.

So a few weeks ago i remembered how back in the day in Youtube there were Dragon Ball/Dinosaur edits using Bring Me to Life. I relistened to the song and loved it much more than expected!!! After checkin some of their other hits i decided to listen to this album...and wow did i not expect it to go this hard.

Apart from the ballads which i found extremely boring (not a problem of the music, it's just that i ... read more

Little Simz - Sometimes I Might Be Introvert
88

This is one of the most unique hip-hop albums i have ever heard. It's so incredibly original, and on top of that fun and well crafted.

Although maybe too over the top with the interludes the tracklist was mostly all killer no filler. There were some songs here and there that i was mixed on about but the highs were very hard-hitting. One of the top albums of the decade fo sho

Tyler, The Creator - IGOR
85

Finally listened to this highly acclaimed album.

It's amazing to think these songs were all produced by Tyler! Props to him, the production on this album is top tier. The songs are ellaborated and complex, i really liked Earfquake, New Magic Wand, Puppet and I think.
Although there were a bunch of songs that i didn't care about much such as the ending song.

Overall it's undoubtly a great listen and one of the best of the last 10 years, but still kinda overrated

Rammstein - Mutter
83

First metal album.

I must say it was a very interesting and fun listen. The first half was very hard hitting specially Mein Herz Brennt, Feur Frei and the masterpiece sonne.

The second half if fell off a little bit more for me but still mantiened a good level of quality.

The album is also incredibly unique in terms of sound, really enjoyed it!

OutKast - Aquemini
93

This was such a big imrpovement compared to Atliens
Absolutely in love with this album.

Rosa Parks, Da Art of Storytelling 1 and 2, Liberation, Skew It on the Bar-B....
So many masterpieces on this album, i think maybe if you removed songs like Mamacita or Slump it would have been on the level of Illmatic, but either way this is prob the best rap album from Atlanta.

Young Thug - Slime Season 3
83

Another great mixtape from young thug

This one probably his work with the best production, however there were some weaker songs here and there. Still very fun project

Also imo this one has Thug's best song (Digits)

Young Thug - Barter 6
87

This project is soooo goated

Young Thug shows us in this mixtape his incredible versatility and originality with incredibly varied and fun songs.
With in my opinion higher highs than Jeffery this album even though less original it's Thugger's best project to date, probably one of the most influential projects of the trap genre as well.

There were some songs here and there kinda just good but apart from that this is a top 5 Trap project

(TEMPORARY 100 BECAUSE BIRTHDAY! ALSO HOPE IT ... read more

Chief Keef - Back from the Dead
75

It's kinda fun, but you get to a point where you get tired of hearing almost the same song OVER and over again.
I felt bored towards the end specially due to how similar the production is on all songs.

However there were some really fun cuts in here like the 2 songs with Soulja Boy and Winnin.

Alicia Keys - The Diary of Alicia Keys
81

As good of a singer Alicia Keys is her songs seem to be kind of a mixed bag, with some amazing pieces while others being just...Meh.

However this album seems to avoid this and deliver a really well crafted piece. As good as a big ammount of this songs were and some being incredibly top tier such as "You don't Know my name" some of the songs came across as just...MEH and being pretty mid.

However that doesn't stop this from being a REALLY good listen

Joey Bada$$ - 1999
84

A great boom-bap album to just chill to and relax. I found it to be pretty solid overall with no bad songs on the whole tracklist, however there wasn't any song i considered 10/10 or went crazy over.
The album is great but it just feels like another Boom-bap project to add to the collection...there really isn't anything here out of the ordinary.

Even then the production is extremely good and the lyrics are great, kinda crazy to think he made this with only 17 years.
