Blueberry Boat is an album I find myself putting on headphones to listen to once every blue moon. The Fiery Furnaces was one of the first few bands I happened to find as a teenager that helped grow my sonic horizons. When I first listened to Blueberry Boat, never had I at that point heard an album so ambitious and outside of the box that wasn't by Pink Floyd or Rush. I was happy to listen to it again after 10 years and still be invested like when I originally heard it. The second half of the album makes up for the first half which has aged less successfully in my opinion.
this album is harrowing and loaded full of rage towards organized religion and other all encompassing institutions. A brave and exclamatory piece.
