Panic! at the Disco - A Fever You Can't Sweat Out

where to even begin with this album? fever is fucking iconic. whether you personally like the record or not, you can't deny the impact that it had on the early 2000s emo/pop punk scene. before writing this review, i watched a metric shit ton of reviews and documentaries focused on this record and the rise of panic, and i think The Cozy Representative on youtube said it best: "Young teenage panic! at the disco completely accidentally made a record that would literally change the entire ... read more

WE ARE SO BACK!!!

so i’ll be honest and say that i really was not a huge fan of the brightest days, so i was nervous for this album. but i am happy to report back and say that it’s GREAT! i’ll get the negatives out of the way so we can end on a positive note.

CONS: 6. goddamn. singles. 6 singles on a 14 track record is like spoiling the whole movie in the trailer. also, the singles sound MUCH better within the context of the album. upon just hearing the singles, i was like ... read more

wow. i’ve never cried like that to an album in my life. i mean sure i’ve teared up, but this was the first time in my life i’ve full blown cried over an album. it wasn’t pretty. but this album is beautiful. holy shit. maybe i’ll come back and update this review when i have better words to do so, but for now i’ll just say that this is an amazing work of art, and it’s so clear to me why david bowie considered one of the best of the best.

woo boy. i know i’m late to the party on this, but damn. i heard this record for the first time during a very emotional part of my life and it really spoke to me. i feel like she really does the whole “girl power” thing in a way that isn’t cheesy, awkward, or weirdly patronizing. i find myself going back to the record at least once a week honestly. i plan on listening to some of her other stuff, but this is definitely an album that will stick with me for a while. ... read more

David Bowie - "Heroes"

holy shit….. i know i’ve said it before but i’ll say it again: stellar album. definitely got me teary eyed. i’ve been doing a bowie binge with a good friend of mine and it’s been a pleasure to hear these all in order. i have to say, i think this is his most emotional record so far, given that i haven’t heard anything past this! i’m excited to hear more.
