Boards of Canada - Tomorrow's Harvest
90

I believe this album is super underrated, it has some really interesting things going for it.

Now that Inferno is out, this album feels very much like a setup for it, and a good one at that.

Temples - Blue Flame
80

Not nearly as dance centric as the others so far, but it’s good in its own way. The production still sounds very nice. I’m loving the zappy, drawn out synths on these singles

IShowSpeed - Champions (WC 26)
80

Crazy to me that it’s actually good 😭

There’s a fun amount of passion put into this, you can tell he cares. And for what it’s worth, the production is good.

The Destruction Of The Cult Of The Sun - Elysian
85

This is a super fun one. My favourite track is Elysian, by far. It's nothing insane, but it's vibey, catchy, indie pop rock. What's not to love?

Boards of Canada - Vol.4 - P. Primers - 177 Giraud's Mirror
90

Really great, chill ambient piece. The deluxe edition of Inferno was worth every penny

almost monday - skinny dip
80

A skinny dip in quality.

Boards of Canada - Inferno

I have lost all respect for The Guardian. This is my album of the year, thank you.

aespa - Hold On Tight
90

This was actually one of my favourite songs in 2025 😭

I do think it’s really good, obviously inspired by the Tetris, and the vocals work into that really well. The whole thing has a fun energy

Ed O'Brien - Blue Morpho
87

Honestly incredible. It makes sense it would be good, coming from a member of Radiohead, but wow. I don’t think there’s a single bad track on here.

Pink Floyd - The Wall
93

I will admit, the humour took its sweet time to land for me. I really could not get into some of them, but after some time I warmed up to it and started to love it.

One thing that’s very specific which I liked, is in the track Is There Anybody Out There?, they reuse instrumentation from Meddle, specifically Echoes, which I think is the best Pink Floyd song. That was really appreciated, and as a general statement the band sounds great here.

In the first couple minutes of the album, I ... read more

Cocteau Twins - Treasure
85

Just a touch less entertaining than Heaven Or Las Vegas, but still full of hypnotic vocals and airy production.

Cocteau Twins - Heaven or Las Vegas
90

The vocals are definitely the highlight, they sound so classical and dreamy.

Animal Collective - Merriweather Post Pavilion
100

How can music be nostalgic when it’s your first time hearing it?

This feels similar to ZABA by Glass Animals (one of my favourite albums), im guessing they took inspiration from Animal Collective. Merriweather Post Pavilion is pretty much everything ZABA does, but better.

My favourites are:
In The Flowers
My Girls
No More Runnin

Magdalena Bay - Imaginal Disk
90

Crazy production; I’m a sucker for this kind of thing

My favourites are:
Image
Death & Romance
Fear, Sex

Charli xcx - SS26
60

It’s way better than Rock Music, but doesn’t really take off at all? It sounds like an incredible build up, but builds up to nothing. Maybe that’s just a first impression, and it will grow one me. We’ll see

Beach House - 7
95

Maybe I'm just a Beach House glazer, but this album is incredibly underrated. I was really feeling something powerful in the lyrics today, and by chance I decided to continue my Beach House discog dive with 7. That was an amazing choice, because the tracks on this album have lyrics that are so uniquely profound and charged with personality. Such creativity isn't found very often.

My favourites are:
Dark Spring
Lemon Glow
L'Inconnue
Drunk In LA

Muse - Hexagons
100

Yeah. Wow. Muse has knocked it out of the park with this single, and the last one.

Gorillaz - Meanwhile
80

Not sure why so many people are calling this mid. It carries the same fresh feel from Song Machine, but with a shorter run time, and, admittedly, less room to shine.

My favourite is:
Jimmy Jimmy

Phantogram - Voices
90

A more consistent, energetic, and punchy follow up to it’s predecessor.

Phantogram - Eyelid Movies
85

There are only a few misses on this album. The lyrics paired with the vocals is hypnotic, like a true dream pop album. The feel that I get from listening to this album is best described as vulnerability. It’s as if the music is expressing its deepest vulnerabilities with the listener, which makes for something magical.

My favourites are:
Mouthful of Diamonds
When I’m Small
Bloody Palms

"@FakerTord48 Eternal Embers by Meltt is one of my favourite records, I’d compare it to Currents. Lonerism is also def comparable, but I figured you meant something that WASNT Tame Impala. Also Deadbeat is good, just not as masterful as the others! It’s Tame Impalas release from trying to make perfect music, but it’s got a lot of charm"
