Lorna Shore prove that they are far more than the trends they set with To the Hellfire
Idk if this is a hot take, but I honestly would consider this to be one of the best hardcore releases in recent times. It sounds nice and clean, but not too clean as it maintains the nice loose feeling that all punk needs to have. The vocals are a tad bit goofy at times but they are also fucking awesome. I've heard rumors that this band may be releasing new music this year and if that is true I am very excited and I hope they get the recognition they deserve for their contribution to ... read more
I live about half an hour away from a town called Arcadia with a population of around 300 people total, so while they definitely have never even heard of this town, it is my headcanon that they are singing about a random Nebraska village and I personally find that very funny. I did not care for this album. It insists upon itself. However, the people calling Sleep Token "the Imagine Dragons of metal" are not correct and they need to stop repeating everything Fantano says. Sleep ... read more
I actually love the theme and aesthetic this album is going for. This could end up being my fav Full of Hell project if the whole album matches the quality of this single in particular. It has so much energy and again the theme feels so visceral and raw in a way that really works.
Its cool to see Parkway Drive do some metalcore stuff again, but this is incredibly generic and not something I'll be returning to.
Shoutout to @TazRatesMusic for recommending this to me when I asked which John Zorn album I should check out. I haven't listened to a ton of avant-garde jazz, but everything I've heard from this genre so far has been absolutely fantastic and the works I've heard from John Zorn have been some of the best not just in avant-garde jazz, but in the whole broader genre of jazz. Every song here hits with its absolutely wild sax and some of the most interesting improvisation I've ... read more
Lots of Linkin Park vibes in this one. House of Protection takes a much poppier sound here which suprisingly really works for me. This song also contains the first guitar solo in a song by this band, and it is a damn good one. A good comeback from their last single imo.
This song is genuinely a masterpiece. The chaotic beginning makes me want to run through a wall and then the bridge slows things down to create an immaculate vibe. There are so many different influences that led to this song being written and it is very cool to think about. Of course, Johnny Booth being Johnny Booth, they had to end thing off with an absolute assbeater of a breakdown that the bridges builds into flawlessly.
I nearly shit myself when I saw new Deadguy on Spotify. I don't know what is causing all of these classic metalcore bands to come back but I hope it keeps happening because Deadguy fr just dropped one of the best songs of the year so far. They have not lost their edge at all in the years since their last release.
I like to cuss like I was raised in a barn🤬
Fuck, shit, piss, cock, titties, and darn!😅
Surprisingly I preferred Yashira's single over Zao's here. Glad Zao did this collab or I probably never would have heard of these guys. Super solid stuff.

Some great beatdown hardcore from the Knocked Loose side project. Great day for ooga booga punch things hardcore fans.
Best song: B.N.E.
This album is a good example of why I like to check out albums regardless of how I feel about the singles. I wasn't expecting to like this too much but I came away pleasantly surprised. It's nowhere near my album of the year or anything but the riffs drew me in for an overall really good album. The singles also grew on me upon relisten.
Highlights: Whose Side Are You On?, Now Thy Kingdom Come, Breaks Me Down
Low Points: Last Laugh, Familiar Pain
A very influential album with a lot of amazing ideas, but it is a little too muddy at times and many of the songs do not last long enough to have a lot of staying power.
Highlights: Siege of Power, Born on Your Knees, You Suffer
Low Points: As the Machine Rolls On, Prison Without Walls
I really like it personally. Its a really weird choice for a single, but I feel it would flow very well if it is going to be a part of an album.
Fit For A King?
More like
More like Silent For A Planet
(The joke is that while this is in reality metalcore band Fit For A King, the song sounds a lot like other metalcore band Silent Planet, so I cleverly combined the two band names.)
Should I like this? Probably not, it is very similar to a lot of metal that I strongly dislike. However, I find this particular blend of pop and metal to be done very well most of the time on The Death of Peace of Mind. The blend is executed fairly creatively and the metal kinda takes a back seat to the produced sound in most of the songs here which I feel makes it work a little better. It's not without its flaws though, as it can fall into the forced breakdown territory at times and ... read more
This was a great album. As it is with most sasscore albums, the vocals didn't always hit for me but the overall songwriting was strong enough to keep me engaged and the vocals were still toned back enough to remain mostly enjoyable. It's always good to see a legacy band like this to return and drop another album.
Highlights: Vomited Soul, Costco High, I Go Where I'm Kicked
Low Points: Soft and Obedient
They're really leaning more and more into this sad boy core. Pretty disappointing as their heavier releases were always so unique and this is pretty generic. Yay new radio rock single with a forced breakdown. TDWP are still clearly talented songwriters and performers but I'm not a big fan of this direction personally.
