Maddie Ashman is lowkey becoming one of the most exciting artists for me rn. I've never heard anything like the stuff she has been making recently.
This album has one of the best, most iconic covers of all time. The music was very different from what I was expecting coming into it, but definitely not in a bad way. I quite enjoyed this record. It feels very forward thinking for its time and aged very gracefully. It also seems like the type of album that grows on the listener with each repeat listen, as there were lots of cool little details and I likely missed even more. Despite the length of this album, being over an hour long, you ... read more
Sadly did not like this one. I have really enjoyed how experimental Knosis has been up to this point and this track does not deliver on that front. I also did not like the way vocal effects were used here at all. The song also unfortunately outstays its welcome for how simplistic it is.
normally avoid rating compilations but the 46 user score is diabolical for a release containing three of the best core albums of all time
Bought this at a record store because it was selling for pretty cheap. It was an enjoyable listen. Very skilled bass and sax playing. It admittedly has aged quite a bit though.
The best Deadguy single so far imo. Short and sweet with lots of awesome switch ups.
While I'm still not a big fan of fire, the band really cooked with the rest of the tracks here. Some may disagree, but House of Protection's sound feels so like such a fresh take on the modern alternative metal genre. Yes it is very produced, but they actually make a lot of interesting choices with said production and it doesn't feel like it's taking away from the music like it does with a lot of modern metal. This band isn't necessarily supposed to be ... read more

I'M SIX FEET FROM THE EDGE AND I'M THINKING
MAYBE SIX FEET AIN'T SO FAR DOWN
I've had the displeasure of this showing up on my feed recently and this genuinely might be the worst "song" I've ever heard
Reviewing this anything below an 80 is TREASON. Dissidents will be reported to the nearest democracy officer and punished accordingly
They are starting to win me over with this one. It still goes on slightly too long but it's pretty good.
For Falling in Reverse standards, this isn't bad tbh. Most likely because Ronnie doesn't have a ton of vocals and when he does they are so processed it doesn't really sound like him lmao. Still a try hard edgy song written by two disgraced musicians though. Hopefully we just don't give this one too much attention.
I Don't Want To See You In Heaven is my album of the year so far because of its high energy and extensive creativity. While I did enjoy the singles released, they did leave something to be desired, at least for Callous Daoboys standards. The album in its entirety really shows off the talents of this band. With this release they REALLY leaned into the constant genre changes, which won't work for some people, but I enjoyed the controlled chaos of it. The album also tows the line of ... read more
The amount of people that don't get that Kill Karl's music is a joke is kinda baffling to me. This is very clearly supposed to be bad in a funny way andis obviously making fun of shit like Falling in Reverse.
The title track of this album is probably my favorite song I've heard from full of hell. The middle tracks kinda overkill trying to set up more of an atmosphere sometimes but nothing here is bad by any means. Even though a little to much of the ep is spent trying to craft this atmosphere, the ep in it's entirety is short enough that the tracks don't overstay their welcome.

I did not know about all the advertising leading up to this, but today I saw a whole bunch of people hyping it up and decided to check it out. Holy mother of god those vocal effects sound like shit. This whole track feels pretty pretentious to me while also missing out on what makes metal good.
Honestly the best direction this band has taken so far. Love the snes style compressed synths
