It's well made and I enjoyed listening to parts of it but it was really generic and I probably won't ever come back to it. If you're a fan of lighter metalcore with electronics and catchy choruses you'll like this though.
I'll give it that it's unique and fairly creative, but it just doesn't sound great to me. I'm not a fan of the singers vocal style and the electronic elements rub me the wrong way. Also despite the bands unique sound, all of their songs blend together for me.
I'm not someone who usually cares about what members do outside of the music they make but hiring a scientologist when your previous singer committed suicide AND hiring her when Chester's son strongly disapproves is fucked
This song is pretty great. It's heavy and aggressive and doesn't sound boring like the last single imo. I do think it would be better without the chorus though. I swear I'm not anti clean vocals but this would be so much better if it stayed heavy the whole time. Obviously this is a nitpick though considering my score of the song. And maybe the chorus will grow on me over time.
If what Phil said is true and this is one of the less crazy tracks on the album then we might be getting one of the best deathcore albums ever here
This does this type of sound better than maybe any other band I've heard. Poppy elements are implemented really nicely and they don't take away from the energy. I held this to a high standard because one of the members was also a member of The Chariot, a band I consider to be one of the best in metalcore history, and while this project doesn't match that same high, it holds up.
Highlights: Pulling Teeth, It's Supposed to Hurt
Low Point: Better Off
I'm gonna be honest I wasn't expecting to like this very much based off of the singles. I still wanted to check it out though as I did really enjoy 156/Silence's last release. Boy am I glad that I did. While I'm still not the biggest fan of two of the three singles released for it, the album as a whole absolutely SLAPS and I enjoy my gripes with the two songs more in the context of the album. The vocalist in this band has got to be one of the best modern core vocalists ... read more
It's great but I was hoping for more LOG influence on the track. It sounds more like Mastodon featuring Randy Blythe than a true Mastodon and Lamb of God collaboration.
This would have been a great ep if it's runtime wasn't doubled by the interludes. Also fuck that shit at the end where they had TWENTY MINUTES of SILENCE. I have no idea why so many bands did this back then it's so fucking pretentious. The good parts are really good but I just can't rate this any higher because the whole album as an experience is not.
Better Lovers and Many Eyes makes me feel like a kid with divorced parents that gets double the presents now. Yeah its not as good as ETID but no one is really doing ETIDs sound so Keith Buckley might as well lol.
Highlights: Future Proof, Harbinger, Revelation
Low Points: The Rainbow
BIG ASS TRUCK continue to be one of the most entertaining bands of the year
This song is one of the most badass things to ever happen in the history of the Olympics.
This might be my fav Better Lovers single released after God Made Me an Animal. The instrumental is pure mathcore chaos and the band is starting to really form their sound. It still has elements of ETID and TDEP but it's starting to become a bit more unique. Overall just a super fun song.
