It may be because one of the writers of this song was a former member of The Chariot(one of my favorite bands of all time), but I expected a lot more from this. I want Poppy to stay on the metalcore arc, but I hope future songs are more interesting than this.
This may be the greatest thrash album ever made. The vocals can sound a tiny bit goofy at times but absolutely everything else about the album more than makes up for it. One of the defining metal albums of the 90s.
This may be the biggest disappointment of the year for me. The Death of Peace of Mind wasn't my favorite album or anything, but I quite enjoyed the project. The singles for this didn't initially wow me, but they grew on me quite a bit and I ended up really enjoying both V.A.N. and The Drain. My enjoyment of these tracks made gave me a high expectation for the album, and after the disaster that was Bring Me the Horizon's album, I really thought that this was going to execute the metalcore pop ... read more
THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!! THAT'S WHY HE'S THE MVP! THAT'S WHY HE'S THE GOAT, THE GOAAAAAT!!!!
Not gonna rerate this bc I already rated the original, but this is a good album and the new tracks are all really good, with Heavener being my personal fav of anything here. The reimagined Without a Whisper just isn't very good though imo. The original was great the way it was no need to change things.
It just sounds like a b-side off of their last album. Also the mixing sounded a little bit off to me.
The flute part is really funny but it also fits somehow and sounds groovy as hell at the same time
This album isn't my favorite metalcore album, but it definitely inspired a lot of my favorites. We Are the Romans was ahead of it's time, and it's a shame people didn't support Botch until far after they broke up, because it was one of the best core albums of the 90s.
Highlights: Man the Ramparts, Our Friends in the Great White North
Low Points: Thank God for Worker Bees - Remix
Not really sure why they released this when the deluxe edition is coming out in 2 days and there is now only one track left, but this was still very good.
Great, heavy, fun ep. Metalcore fans should check this one out. My only gripe is the songs tend to blend together a bit but they're all really good regardless.
Half generic metalcore half butt rock. I don't hate it but I'm relatively unimpressed. Every member of the band performs well but I feel that they don't always align as they should.
Highlights: Eat Glass, Parasite
Low Points: Home, One More Night
Really cool mix of thrash and metalcore that I enjoyed quite a bit. Jasta is a super talented vocalist and almost everything he's involved in is good. His cleans could still use a bit of improvement though.
Highlights: Create the Now, Assimilation Agenda
Low Points: R.M.P.C, The Pheonix Way
Shit's so good it started an entire subgenre of people imitating it
Highlights: Blinded By Fear, Slaughter of the Soul
Low Points: The Flames of the End
Bring Me the Horizon have really cemented themselves as the Imagine Dragons of metal with this release, creating an album where nearly every song is so overproduced, it loses any grit and energy it should have and feels like it can barely be considered a part of the genre anymore. The key difference between BMTH and Imagine Dragons, is that BMTH have proven to have the ability to write music that I actually really enjoy sometimes. This album specifically actually contains what I would ... read more
