Swans Re-review: Pt. 7
I like how the album starts, and I really like how it ends, but I don't care about almost anything in between. It has some nice moments here and there, but overall, it's just decent. Feels like a less creative version of White Light.

First things first, I've listened to the remastered version because it's the one that is on Spotify, and Blind is too good to ignore; it's like a 9/10. Also, a couple of songs are a bit shorter, and Why Are We Alive is a bit longer on the reissue.
Unexpectedly enough, I liked this album; it has grown on me (65=>72). It's probably their best that far.

This album is Kid A-level inconsistent. It has genius pieces of music like "Good Morning, Captain" after really mid songs like "For Dinner...". Anyway, I'll just go song by song and discuss them.

Fantano may have never been more wrong.
This was the first Kanye album I've ever heard. And, at least so far, it's the best. Not even close for me. It's the first album that has 100/100 songs, even 3 of them.

The album is quite the definition of alright for me. I don't regret I've listened to it, but I can't say I wanna do it again.
One thing I gotta mention is how smooth the transitions are. They're surprising throughout the whole record.
Anyway, it's a decent album that has some impressive moments, like Kanye's verse on Murder to Excellence or Jay's verse on New Day.

Kanye West: Pt. 5
This album is ambitious, experimental, grand and, kinda good. I mean, I probably expected way too much from it, but I thought it would be better.
I respect how weird this album is, but I think Kanye has overdone it a bit. The chronometrage of the songs is often ridiculous. The fact that he sampled King Crimson doesn't mean he should make 9 minute songs now. Runaway is good, though.

I don't like this album. Actually, the right thing to say would be that I don't like the second half. I know it's an extremely influential release, but listening to it in 2023 is just boring.
The first half was good, the second half was really mid. And, the decision to put this weird freestyle at the end is very weird.
Overall it's not a bad album, but it's really overrated.
Swans Re-review: Pt. 5
Finally! It took me so long to actually like any album they made (68=>71).
This album is exhausting to the point that, despite having something to say about it, I find it hard to write this review because of how tired I am after it.
