Slipknot: Pt. 7
The end, I hope
Joey is probably turning in his grave because of this album, they're just disrespecting his legacy at that point. I mean, there are 9 members in this band. How come no one of them has something interesting to offer?
This album is shockingly uninspired. I feel like Slipknot is becoming the Nickelback of metal.
One more thing I don't like about it, is that uninteresting songs have really interesting titles (De Sade, Adderall, Heirloom, etc.).
Overall, it's ... read more
Slipknot: Pt. 6
"Used to be something special, now you're nothing new." Corey said everything by himself.
The songs became longer and slower but didn't become better. It has some nice songs here and there: Unstained, Nero Forte, etc. But it's just not interesting to listen to.
It is quite easily better than The Gray Chapter, but worse than All Hope is Gone, which kinda disappointed me.
Slipknot: Pt. 5
This album is basically All Hope is Gone but worse. Without something as amazing as Snuff, and, more importantly, without Joey. I struggle to picture Slipknot without Joey.
I basically have nothing more to say about the album. Killpop is the only good song, and Devil in I is very overrated. I mean, it has a higher rating than Circle.
It's just boring to listen to, and boring to talk about.
Slipknot: Pt. 4
I've heard it for the first time today, and I'm not too disappointed because I knew the downgrade was coming, but still it's one hell of a downgrade.
On this record, they're just not exciting anymore. I feel like that's the simplest explanation to why this album is so much worse than the stuff before it.
With that being said, the album has its moments. Gematria is kinda cool, same with Dead Memories. Gehenna is quite an interesting experiment.
And, of course, Snuff feels ... read more
Bjork: Pt. 5
A Bjork album, but it's only my voice.
The only problem this album has is that it doesn't sound like something new. I've heard dozens of albums similar to it.
Now, seriously, I respect Bjork for making such a weird album. Probably the weirdest I've ever heard. But the fact that it's such a brave experiment to make doesn't necessarily mean it's a good album. And, in this case, it's not.
I don't want to go through songs one by one because most of them are just decent, and some ... read more
Revisiting Slipknot: Pt. 3
This album fucked my ears, one of those you gotta make loud to enjoy.
It's often called the "Last GOOD Slipknot album", and, though I haven't heard anything after it, and I love this record, I see the potential to suck in it. I see how this album could start the path Black Album started for Metallica.
The start is solid. The Blister is better than Prelude, and Three Nil is better than The Blister. But, duality is a fucking masterpiece; it's perfect. ... read more
Revisiting Noize MC: Pt. 7
I feel like with this album Noize MC made his best record so far. It starts kinda unimpressive, but at the 6th track "Грабли", Noize makes one of the best songs in the history of Russian music. It's an 11/10 type of song.
After such a genius track, the album elevates to a new, truly amazing level of quality, and keeps it until the end.
Overall, it's great. That's all I can say.

Revisiting Slipknot: Pt. 2
This album is different from the debut but is also kinda the same. Its main issue is once again the similarity of the songs in the second half.
It's a very good album, and it's even better than the self-titled debut.
It starts with an alright intro and transitions into one of the more brutal songs on this album and the whole discography, which is People = Shit. I mean, listen to the first 30 seconds of it and realize they're not a grindcore band. A very good ... read more
Revisiting Slipknot: Pt. 1
My 100th review!
This is a very good start. Every song on here is good (except Eeyore if you count it). It gives some unique experiences from songs like Purity or Scissors.
I like the 30-second intro, it pulls you immediately into this violent atmosphere the album has. Sic is a very good song, though I wouldn't say it stands out.
Can't say the same thing about Eyeless which is, probably, the best song I've ever heard from Slipknot. Every part of it is amazing. ... read more
Linkin Park: Pt. 7
Yep, it's better than Living Things. Sometimes it gets boring, but is it a bad record? Not really. Just not an interesting one.
I'm really tired and it's not the type of the album you wanna talk about, so I'll just say that One More Light (the song) is very good and y'all are also overhating Battle Syphony.
And, Sharp Edges is just so unnecessary. This album would probably hit harder if it would have ended on the title track.
Linkin Park: Pt. 6
Surprisingly enough, this album is kinda nice. After the radio-friendly mediocrity Linkin Park made on Living Things, this album seems to return to the sound 10,000 Suns had, with a little bit of SOAD influence.
Though it's an obvious improvement from the last album, it's not a very good record by itself. The first two songs are mid, with Page Hamilton probably being the weakest feature on the LP.
By the way, it has a lot of features, a lot. And Rakim, unlike Hamilton, ... read more
Revisiting Noize MC: Pt. 6
I don't know why but this album, while not being his best, feels like a great jump in the quality of music.
Don't really know what to write about this record, Noize keeps experimenting and succeeding in it. The lyrics are still amazing, the music is great, has some weak moments, but much less than Protivo Gunz had.
Overall, a nice record. It has some highs but it's very inconsistent.

Revisiting Metallica: Pt. 6
Metallica should've retired after the self-titled album. Just think about how more iconic Metallica would be if we would only praise Master of Puppets or Ride The Lightning without laughing at St. Anger or yawning at Load and Reload.
This album is uninspired and uninspiring. Sometimes I didn't really pay attention to the album and the songs were uninteresting. But when I tried to pay attention it was exhausting. A few months ago I went on a 90-minute walk to ... read more
Linkin Park: Pt. 5
I didn't like it. There's only one song I like from here, and it's Burn It Down.
They still try to experiment with different stuff on this record, but they mostly suck in comparison with the songs from 10k days. A much less interesting album
Lost in the Echo is kind of a decent radio hit. In My Remains is a slightly worse radio hit, and Burn It Down is finally a good radio hit.

Revisiting Noize MC: Pt. 5
This album makes a really huge contrast with everything Noize MC released before. This artist isn't funny anymore, the record has some funny moments, but they feel more like an exception.
This album is so experimental and unique, that it fits the title perfectly (its title can be translated as "Muddle"). And for the vast majority of those experimental sounds, Noize MC nailed it.
Overall, a very good album, and a beginning of a new era for Noize MC. ... read more
Revisiting Noize MC: Pt. 4
In this incredibly fun and very diverse record, Noize MC manages to praise California and to harass Britney Spears as well as to talk about very dark themes like death and drug addiction.
This album makes me cringe a little bit at times, but I feel like it's kind of forgivable considering that most of the songs for this thing Ivan wrote while being a teenager. It also still has some amazing songs like "Тонкий лёд" and "Жвачка". The ... read more

So, I haven't reviewed any albums for 2 weeks from now. I guess, when terrorists attack your country, the last thing you will do is review some records. OK, now about the album.
It's a weird album, yet it's kinda good. I don't like how it starts, but when it comes to Burning in the Skies, I get really curious. Burning in the Skies is the first good song on the album.
Empty Spaces is a cool little interlude; it also reminds me a bit of the intro in Absolution by Muse. ... read more
Revisiting Noize MC: Pt. 3
This record feels more professional and more mature, but still loses to both of its predecessors. There's just a bit more cringe moments, that don't feel as fun as on the debut, and less songs as fantastic as on the sophomore.
"Эдем 14/88" really shocks me by how brave it is, and how easily it can be misinterpreted. If someone would write a song like this in nowadays Russia, he'd probably go to jail.
Overall, a good album. It's just a little worse. ... read more
Revisiting Noize MC: Pt. 2
Another very good album from Noize MC.
It has some moments that make me cringe, but it also has a lot of genius songs. It could be hard to understand for y'all Americans, but his skill at writing lyrics as powerful as on songs like "Ругань из-за стены" or "На Марсе Классно" was shocking at 2010, and sometimes, remains stunning even now. 4 last songs of the album are very different from each other, yet every one of ... read more

Limp Bizkit if they were good.
I've decided to review some Russian music. And this album is very good. I like every song from it. It's just very fun to listen to, and the comparison to Limp Bizkit actually has more sense now that I think about it.
Noize MC will release some much more interesting albums later in his career, but hell it's a good starting point.
