Radiohead Re-review: Pt. 9
Easily one of the best breakup albums of the decade)
Is this a good album? Yes, it's very good. One of the best Radiohead has ever made? Not so much.
Burn the Witch is a great opener. I got a little sick of it, cause I played it so many times when I tried to get into this album a year ago. But the strings on this song are flawless, as much as on the whole record. Radiohead has a lot of strings on here, and they're always amazing.
Daydreaming is a very solid song. ... read more
Radiohead Re-review: Pt. 8
This album is short, but not in a good way In Rainbows was.
Bloom is the weakest opener in the whole discography. I don't get why people like it so much and call it one of the best songs on the album. Morning Mr Magpie and Little by Little are better and are generally good songs, but they're not on the same level of quality Radiohead usually stick to. Feral is a bunch of noise that has some nice drum patterns and nothing more to offer. I am genuinely curious how ... read more
Radiohead Re-review: Pt. 7
These 40 minutes passed so fast. I mean it in the best way possible, I might even write the review longer. And I've never thought I'd say it, but it's a better album than Kid A. Another thing I want to mention is the live from the basement. It helped me to understand and love this album even more.
15 Step and Bodysnatchers are both very good songs, they show the diversity of the record, and do some new stuff, but only after them, we get to Nude. Like, Radiohead made ... read more
Radiohead Re-review: Pt. 6
This album grew on me the most so far. (70=>82). Going into this today, I was very skeptical, but I ended up enjoying it quite a bit. I thought that this album had some of the lowest points in the whole discography, but even the worst songs on here aren't worse than decent.
2+2=5 is such an amazing opener. It gives everything you want from an opener by Radiohead. Its structure is so weird, but everything is in its right place. It's a good thing that the song ... read more
Radiohead Re-review: Pt. 5
This album feels like the most experimental one yet. Because, though both OK Computer and Kid A were very unique and unexpected, at least they remained within the sound they stated. This album is constantly experimenting, and every song on here sounds and feels pretty unique. And it doesn't sound similar to Kid A almost at any point of the record, so the B-sides thing is pretty senseless.
Packt Like Sardines is a very solid opener. The lyrics are both easy and hard ... read more
Radiohead Re-review: Pt. 2
Man, that's as spectacular as music can get. I can't describe how perfect this album is.
It starts with, not one of my favorites, but an amazing song regardless, Planet Telex. Then, we get this amazing streak of perfect songs from The Bends to Bones. The lyrics on The Bends are genius, the line "Where are you now when I need you?" Makes me wanna cry every time. High And Dry is also genius. The lyrics, the chorus, the solo, and everything about it is ... read more
Radiohead Re-review: Pt. 1
Grow, my hair, I wanna be Thom Yorke.
Starting kinda strong. It's such an overhated album. You can say that it's just alternative rock, but it's a good example from the genre. The fact that this album isn't as groundbreaking and unique doesn't mean it's not good.
It starts with one of the most underrated Radiohead songs ever, You. Such a powerful song in every way and, by far, the best on the album. Then we get Creep, which is very good, but there will be some ... read more
Linkin Park: Pt. 3
Yep, it's better than Children of God.
It starts with Wake, which is an interesting instrumental, but it doesn't prepare to, spoiler alert, the best song on the album, Given Up. Given Up is perfect, Chester's 17-second scream at the bridge is iconic.
Leave Out All the Rest is good, Bleed it out is even better. Shadow of The Day is very forgettable, and What I've done is good, but kinda overrated.
No More Sorrow is surprisingly very heavy to Linkin Park's standards. ... read more
Rammstein: Pt. 8
The only Rammstein album I've heard for the first time before this review. And, it's a good one. I can say for sure now that every Rammstein album is good, which is kinda impressive when you have 8 of 'em.
The opener, Armee Der Tristen is very overrated. I can't remember another Rammstein song, which is so uninspiring and boring. Fortunately, after it, we see one of the best songs Rammstein has made after their return. Zeit is an amazing ballad, but it would be better ... read more
Revisiting Rammstein: Pt. 7
It's a good album, but I have a weird feeling that it's missing something. It feels more soulless than their previous stuff.
So, starting off kinda strong, with an epic yet an overrated song, Deutschland. Then continuing with a nice follow-up, which is Radio. Both of these songs are objectively very good, but, for some reason, I can't say I love 'em.
We continue with one of the best songs on the album, Zeig Dich. It starts amazing, with this heavy riff on top of ... read more
Revisiting Rammstein: Pt. 6
The first half of the album is just a lot of solid songs. Most of them are a little overrated because, though they're good songs, the highlights of the album will be after them. Ich tu dir weh is very overrated.
Fruhling in Paris is one of the most overlooked Rammstein songs ever. It's perfect, especially the chorus. After it, we get to another highlight, which is Wiener Blut. It's one of the Mein Teil-type songs when Rammstein takes the most fucked up story ever ... read more
Linkin Park: Pt. 2
Weirdly, this album is rated higher than the debut, I find it to be a little worse but still very solid.
The album starts very well, with a solid opener Don't Stay, and then gives us three amazing songs. On them, you can already see some difference; this LP is much less focused on the riffs than Hybrid Theory and gives more space to the synths.
After an alright Easier to Run, we get the best song on the album, Faint. Another example of a song that isn't focused on the ... read more
Revisiting Rammstein: Pt. 5
This album is actually very good. Too overhated.
People say a lot of the songs here are just leftovers from Reise, Reise, but this album doesn't sound like B-sides even for a split second.
For some reason, people don't like Wo Bist Du? and, one of the best songs on the album, Stirb Nicht Vor Mir. Both of these songs are very underrated. Te Quiero Puta! is also a fun song. It has that awful segment when Carmen sings at the bridge, but everything else on there is ... read more
Linkin Park: Pt. 1
So, that album was a lot of fun.
I don't wanna say a lot about it. The first 10 songs were very good, the last 2 were kinda meh. Pushing Me Away sounds like the producers said to make another song, and they made it in 20 minutes. I would put High Voltage on the record instead.
One Step Closer and A Place For My Head are the best songs on this LP LP. Both of them feel very sincere.
Another thing I was impressed by, is Mike's rapping. He has some good bars here and there. ... read more
Nirvana: Pt. 3
It's weird that this album has exactly the same rating as Nevermind. It's very good, but I can't say it comes close to how perfect Nevermind is.
It starts good, with Serve the Servants and Scentless Apprentice. After the first 2 songs, there is 4 genius songs in a row. I struggle to remember such an incredible streak of songs on any album I've heard. The second part has some good songs but isn't nearly as good as the first one. With that being said, here we have the best closer ... read more
Nirvana: Pt. 2
I've heard this album a few times, and I can't describe how much I love it. It's so perfect that every song on this thing is at least a 9/10 (endless, nameless doesn't count).
It's one of the albums when you see a user score of 89, and you're like, "Why so low?".
Now, some controversial stuff. Smells Like Teen Spirit is one of the weakest songs on here. It's still amazing, and may just be overplayed, but I feel like most of the songs on this LP are better.
To ... read more
Nirvana: Pt. 1
I've listened to the extended version of the album with Big Cheese and Downer, but I wouldn't count them as a part of the album. It probably wouldn't change anything anyway.
So, I heard this album 8 or 9 months ago and I didn't like it. Now I think it's very good.
It starts kind of alright and ends not too strong (yet good), but everything in between is pure gold. Kurt's vocals are amazing and often he makes some unbelievable screams. The lyrics here are also very good. I ... read more
Nine Inch Nails: Pt. 8
This is the last NIN LP I'm going to cover. I won't listen to the Ghosts trilogy.
This listen was unnecessary. I respect Trent for bringing the messy and filthy sound back on the first half, but I don't find it as exciting as it was before.
It's an another mid NIN album. In fact It's the first one that I didn't give a heart to any song from. You remember the times when 6-7 minute NIN songs were good? In the 90s, when Trent decided to make a long song, he always did ... read more
Nine Inch Nails: Pt. 7
I don't like this album. It's so... clean. I really miss the messy sound of previous albums. Also, stop comparing it to Pretty Hate Machine, it's not even a little similar.
It starts very weird. The eater of dreams sounds like an atmospheric intro that builds up to the next song but then Copy of A just nullifies it.
There were moments on this album that I loved, sometimes they saved some songs from getting a 40. The chorus of Everything, the lyrics on Running, the ... read more
Nine Inch Nails: Pt. 6
I can't say it's a bad album, but it's also not a good one.
It was made in 3 weeks, and it feels like it. It has a nice concept; there are times when I can understand the pain that Trent goes through when he says that he's tired of trying to fight his demons over and over again.
The music on here is very mid. It balances between songs that sound like you asked Chat GPT to make a song in NIN style, and songs that are trying to be deep. Like, who thought that 7 and a ... read more
