Nine Inch Nails: Pt. 5
The worst NIN album so far. There were gaps of 5-6 years between the previous albums. But here, it took Trent only 2 years to make it. The concept of the whole project with all of the websites and stuff, is interesting. But, I don't feel it's worth diving into. It's understandable that after Trent has overcome his problems, he tried to make something very ambitious. But he didn't succeed at making good music too much.
The album in a vacuum is just a compilation of some ... read more
Nine Inch Nails: Pt. 4
Yep, this album is better than The Fragile.
Most of the albums I reviewed on here so far, were the albums I've already heard. And from a few of the records that were new to me, this LP is probably the best.
People tend to say that this album is a more mainstream record than its predecessors. And, they're right. There are even some songs on here that sound like mainstream versions of the songs that were in NIN's catalog before. Is it a bad thing? Not really.
On this ... read more
Revisiting Metallica: Pt. 5
The first half of this album is amazing, while the second is kinda good, but it wouldn't be if not for Nothing Else Matters.
I don't want to say a lot about this album. It's good, The Unforgiven, Nothing Else Matters, and Enter Sandman are iconic, but this album started the path of Metallica being extremely popular and, predictably bad.
Revisiting Metallica: Pt. 4
This album can't compete with 2 records before it. Not because it's not a good album, but because Ride the Lightning and Master of Puppets are magnificent. Though I feel that this record sounds like they tried to do the same thing but it didn't come out as exciting as on the albums before.
The main flaw of this album is its production. Where's the bass? The producers said that Lars was the one to ask them to turn down the bass parts. But everyone knows the deal ... read more
Revisiting Rammstein: Pt. 4
Starting from the obvious. It's a downgrade from Mutter. But it's still a good album. It has more storytelling than its predecessors and has worse production, and also it has a lot of solos. But the music still doesn't hit as hard as on Mutter.
Reise, Reise is a very strong opener and one of the best songs on the album. Sets the tone for the whole thing.
I always knew the story behind Mein Teil, but at this listen I was terrified by it, for some ... read more
Revisiting Rammstein: Pt. 3
This was an amazing listen!
On this album, Rammstein took all of the best things from the previous albums and improved all of the weaknesses. Till's vocal performance on songs like Mein Herz Brennt, Adios, and Mutter is awesome, especially compared to previous records.
This record is the most diverse Rammstein has done so far. It has amazing ballads like Mutter, has a lot of storytelling like Spieluhr and Mein Herz Brennt, and also has some of the heaviest songs ... read more
Revisiting Rammstein: Pt. 2
Coming back to Rammstein after more than a month, I expected this album to be simple and enjoyable. And I kinda got it.
First things first, what did you expect from Pitchfork? They're known for not understanding a thing about metal.
Secondly, this album is worse than the debut. This album sounds more professional, but not in a good way. The production on Herzeleid was raw and on here it sounds more mainstream. The vocals on here stand out more than on the debut, ... read more
Nine Inch Nails: Pt. 3
Listen to NIN with good headphones. I listened to this album several months ago and back then I hated it because I had very bad headphones. Now I used wired headphones and the album became much better.
The concept of this record isn't nearly as amazing and flawlessly executed as on The Downward Spiral. Trent completely deviates from the story on Starfuckers Inc. Also, this album has too much unnecessary instrumentals (The frail, Pilgrimage, The Mark Has Been Made, ... read more
Nine Inch Nails: Pt. 2
I've heard this album 3 or 4 times, but I never did with wired headphones. It's a completely different experience. The album sounds incredibly good.
Should I really say something about the flawless concept of this project? An amazing story about how someone could fuck up his life so much that he actually find suicide to be the solution of all of his problems. The album shows us how Mr. Self Destruct gradually takes over the protagonist's thoughts which leads to the ... read more
Revisiting Placebo: Pt. 8
I hate the second half of this album. It's a weird one because it has one of the best Placebo songs ever, Happy Birthday in the Sky, while also has some of the worst at the end.
I remembered it being better. It's the worst in their discography, which I didn't expect.
Revisiting Placebo: Pt. 7
It's a decent album. The first half is mid, while the second is good.
Loud Like Love is one of the most pop things Placebo has ever made. But it turned out good. The best song on the first half.
Scene of the Crime and Too Many Friends are just decent songs.
Hold on to Me is bad. Like, it starts decent but at the end, it becomes too pretentious.
I used to love Rob the Bank, but now some of the lyrics sound kinda cringe.
I like A Million Little Pieces. It's ... read more
Revisiting Placebo: Pt. 6
You know it's not a very good album when you realize that Julien is the best song on here. A very underrated song btw.
2009 was a rough year. Muse downgraded with The Resistance, Placebo downgraded with this album, which was released after their best album.
The songs on here are very similar and kinda generic. It often feels like AI writing a Placebo song. It has some good songs (Julien, Kitty Litter, Happy You're Gone, etc.), but it also has some of the most empty ... read more
Revisiting Placebo: Pt. 5
People often say that there are too many songs about drugs in this album. But they're writing these songs in a very sincere way, so I don't see a problem here.
It's probably their best album so far. It has almost no weaknesses and its highs are higher than on the previous album (Space Monkey, Song to Say Goodbye, etc.).
I want to talk specifically about Song to Say Goodbye, which is the best song on this album and the best closer Placebo has made so far. The song ... read more
Revisiting Placebo: Pt. 4
I like the album cover. It really adds to the experience.
And the experience is kinda powerful. It's one of the albums that is better than just the songs' average.
I love how Special Needs and Centerfolds make a story together. Centerfolds is the most underrated song on here. I'll Be Yours also kinda adds to that story.
With that being said the album has some weak spots. With Something Rotten, being an interesting experiment, but not a successful one. With Second ... read more
Nine Inch Nails: Pt. 1
That's gonna be interesting.
I've listened to this album a couple of times. It still manages to surprise me. I really like how it sounds. Trent was the first to make an industrial album sound so mainstream.
The lyrics here are interesting. They often sound like something written by a teenager. But this naivety kinda feels sincere and not as cringe as usual.
The music on the album is amazing. Trent mixed industrial with synthpop in a very enjoyable way.
Overall, ... read more
Revisiting Placebo: Pt. 3
I don't like this album as much as the previous albums. It has some very good songs (Haemoglobin, Passive Aggressive, etc.) Has some very bad songs (It's only Spite and Malice but whatever). But, mostly, the songs on here are somewhere between decent and good. There are some songs on here that I appreciate but don't like. Also, they don't give an album experience. It feels like just 13 tracks that aren't related to each other.
One more thing I want to mention. ... read more
Revisiting Twenty One Pilots: Pt. 5
I listened to this album when it got released and I hated it. I was kinda right back in the day. The album is extremely mid. The dema propaganda thing doesn't give you an excuse to sound so fake.
There are no standout songs on here. Even the best songs (Choker, No Chances, etc.) aren't impressive.
It ends quite well, and starts alright, but everything in between is mid at best.
Revisiting Twenty One Pilots: Pt. 4
Man, the end hits hard. I don't have a lot of nostalgia about this album; I've heard it front to back for the first time 3 months ago.
The album mostly shows some very good songs and amazing lyrics. But at the end it gets heavy. Legend is an amazing tribute to Tyler's grandfather. It sounds upbeat, but the lyrics at the end are heartbreaking. Leave the City hits even harder, when he just realizes he can't get out of dema and just puts up with it.

Revisiting Metallica: Pt. 2
I've listened to this album a lot of times. And I still find something new. This time, I noticed that the drums on here are insane. Lars is overhated, he's very creative on this album, especially in comparison to Load or Reload.
Everything on this album is so amazing, that I don't know what to say about it. The one thing I should say, Escape is a good song, it's not even the worst song on here.
It's such a brave move to close an album with an instrumental song. ... read more
Revisiting Placebo: Pt. 2
This album is an improvement from the debut in every way. The music is more diverse, while the lyrics are easier to understand and relate to.
The first half of the album is faster and has more hits, while the second half of it is slower and has more experimental songs. I like the first half a bit more, it has one of my favorite songs in Placebo discography, Without You I'm Nothing.
Overall, it's a good album. When I listened to it first it was tough to get into, ... read more
