"EXPERIMENTAL RAP" lives up to its name, and is in fact, quite experimental. But it's not quite the home-run that Peggy wanted.
This album has a lot of creative and experimental ideas; I especially love the dubstep influence, which I was not expecting. With this album, Peggy seemed to aim for something fast-paced, catchy, and full of bangers. But I feel like it's too unfocused to make a cohesive statement.
As many others have criticized, Peggy lyrically and vocally seems ... read more
This is a great track unfortunately held back by Peggy himself. The instrumental is really good, but his flow and lyricism just kill it. He had the opportunity to do something more emotionally driven with this track, but instead we got the same flow and lyric style he's been doing for 3 years now. The crescendo in the second half of the song is pretty good, but since the rest of the track is so aimless and weak, it just feels undeserved. I do respect that he went for a more ethereal rock ... read more
This JPEGMAFIA song sure is JPEGMAFIA'ing
I like this song but I really wish it did more. This just feels like a bonus track from I LAY DOWN MY LIFE FOR YOU. Albeit, that was a great album, but I think it's time Peggy moves on from the "rap rock" sound, or at least does something new with it. It was a fun gimmick for one album and a deluxe reissue, but I want something new since this sound has almost been all he's done for nearly 2 years now. Even if he wants to stick ... read more
The longest 3 minutes of my life. I really do not know how to feel about Foo Fighters right now. They're on such a hit or miss streak right now.
"But Here We Are" was a fantastic album, but their next song after that, "Today's Song", was very bad. But then, they followed that up with "Asking For A Friend", which is one of their best songs. But now they realized this... Which is just absolutely horrible. Terrible production and generic songwriting. I ... read more
Thank you for the recommendation, centerams!
I unfortunately didn't like this very much. The instrumental was pretty good, and I liked some of the lyrics. But my main issue with this is the vocals, which sound pretty poorly mixed and poorly performed at some points. They strongly hold back the song. I definitely can tell passion went into this though, and I think with enough time and experience, these artists could make something really good. Right now though, this comes off as very ... read more
Joji, please give me something to work with here...
"Piss In The Wind" is the fourth album from Joji, an artist I've loved over the years. But throughout his whole career, it feels like Joji has always struggled to tap into his true potential. And this new project is sadly no different. I was hoping that since there was a 3-year gap between this and his last album, and also that he was now independent of 88rising, he would release his best work yet. Unfortunately, this is just ... read more
One of their better singles in a while. Unfortunately, the mixing is really bad. Aside from that though, it's nice to hear them try something a bit different. Feels like they're going for a more "modern" sound on this, which I can certainly appreciate, especially after how generic some of their previous singles have been. It still definitely has a lot of the typical 80s rock tropes they are known for though.
Overall, this song was very good. I like how Joji brought back the more lo-fi production of In Tongues, but it still has that layer of polish from his newer projects. It's an intere- Oh... And it's over, welp okay. Guess that's the end of the review.
Joji is back after three years of radio silence. Part of me was expecting him to honestly just retire which would be understandable. But nope, he's back with an absolute banger.
A rage song with Joji vocals sounds admittedly bad on paper, but this goes unbelievably hard. The return of the heavier, distorted sound from his earlier works is back, but with the lushness of the production and vocals of his albums from this decade. The clash between the heavy instrumental and soft vocals may ... read more
Both these tracks are 10/10's, but for whatever reason, they're listed on this site as "miscellaneous", so I'm rating them a 99 for the sole purpose of getting this out of my perfect score albums.

You know things aren't going well if you find yourself listening to this album past midnight. Anyway, I've wanted to rewrite my review of this album for a while now, since this has grown to become one of the most meaningful and important albums to me personally. To this day, it's easily the most disturbing, depressing, raw, and haunting album I've ... read more
Haven't had this much enjoyment from an album on release in a long time, even more so than "CHROMAKOPIA". Even though I prefer other albums of his over this, "DON'T TAP THE GLASS" is just so blissful and fresh-sounding. I've had it on repeat nonstop, and it only just came out yesterday. Just such a consistent collection of bangers, with enough mixture of dance tracks and heavier rap tracks that keep it engaging the whole way through. Feels breezy, smooth, ... read more
So this actually isn't that bad. I feel like people hate this solely for the concept alone, rather than the actual song. I mean, the idea of Twenty One Pilots doing a cover of a My Chemical Romance song sounds horrible on paper, but especially with Cancer of all songs. But it actually turns out to be good. Good atmospheric production, and it also does what a good cover should; recontextualize the original. The original song sounds theatrical and sad, but with a glimmer of hope, while this ... read more
I absolutely loved the Foo Fighters' last album. It was a heartfelt, powerful, and well-performed rock album. Unfortunately, this new single just feels like them attempting to capture the same emotions as "But Here We Are", but with none of the quality. The hook feels underdeveloped, and the vocals are badly sung; the song just overall feels like a demo. Many people had issues with the production of "But Here We Are", and while I never agreed with those complaints, I ... read more
One of the greatest songs ever made. Pure bliss in music form. This song is an absolute banger with some of the most ethereal, lush, and euphoric production in all of electronic music. This song absolutely emanates nostalgia and good vibes. Incredible sample usage too, and the beat hits hard as to be expected. Overall one of my favorite songs of all time and I encourage more people to listen to it.
Such a fantastic song, but it completely loses steam during the beat switch. I really enjoy Drake's melodic and dreamier tracks, and I love just how fun the vibe is on this song. The first part of this song is easily one of the best Drake songs. But unfortunately, the second part is really boring and takes up most of the song. Drake's flow just feels so boring and the beat loses almost all its personality. Overall, really good song, until it's not.
I am not familiar with By Storm or Injury Reserve at all, but I definitely gotta check more of their stuff out if it's as good as this, because WOW. This is some of the most insane rap production I have ever heard, this had me absolutely floating. Incredible vocal work too, and I love how despite the song following a relatively simple structure, it still manages to feel like a musical journey with the jazzy section towards the end. Absolutely blown away here, and this is easily one of, if ... read more
The more I think about it, the more I realize that this is actually one of my favorite songs of all time. It's actually so unreal. When listening to "I Didn't Mean To Haunt You" for the first time, this was the song that made me realize I was truly in for a music experience unlike any other. This was the song that made me take Quadeca seriously as an artist.
The production is genuinely so perfect with the haunting vocal samples hidden throughout the song and the reflective ... read more
Obligatory "Owl City sucks... But man this song goes hard" that every review starts with
Seriously lightning in a bottle song, usually these really cheesy 2000s synthpop songs cringe me to death, but the way it's done here is just so endearing and earnest. Production is fantastic, the vocal performance perfectly fits with the nostalgic sound of this song, and the booming chorus hits hard. All these things combine to perfectly encapsulate the ethereal and otherworldly feel this ... read more
