Joyce Manor's genre change still feels weird considering how electric their original pop punk/emo sound was, but there are worse things then being a decent power Pop band.
I love you Bruce and I greatly appreciate the message but this song really isn't good.
I'm genuinely stunned by this album. I knew that the title track of this album was pretty beloved but I assumed the rest of it was gonna be just decent. I certainly did not think that this album was going to be amongst the best Springsteen albums I've heard, but after listening I can say that this album is some of his best work.
"The Ghost of Tom Joad" is maybe Springsteens most outwardly political album that I've heard so far. He had recently moved to California and ... read more
I'm not super well versed in cloud rap but this is some great stuff. The beat choices on this are great and A$AP Rocky has enough to charisma to keep the project from feeling too sleepy.
Listening to this for the first time it really hit me how much we lost when Karen Carpenter passed away. No one else was able to express that much melancholy in their voice. Richard's compositions are excellent as well, I love this album far more then I expected too.
EDIT 6-->7: A couple songs grew on me and I think it's a bit more cohesive then I initially gave credit for.
After a nearly 8 year long wait, "DONT BE DUMB" is alright. It's got some good songs and some mediocre songs but not a ton of huge standouts. Maybe this will grow on me but as of now, I think this is a decent album although not one that was worth the wait.
I came back to this album for the first time in a while today and I don't think I originally gave this the credit it deserved. I think this is a really good breakup album.
I really wanted to like this but Nicki's talent can't distract from how obnoxiously dated this tape is.
Zach Bryan's sentimentality runs dry when it's repeated over the course of 25 tracks. There are some very good songs on here, but they can be hard to spot when they're put in between a truckload of mediocre ones. Bryan simply does not have the versatility to be making albums this long, and it continually disappoints me to see him refusing to evolve.
FAV TRACKS: Deann's Denim, South and Pine, Anyways, You Can Still Come Home, Aeroplane
Nate Amos is a great songwriter but he is not a great producer. I feel frustrated by this album because of this, since I can imagine a much better version of this with different production. Still a good album though.
I was expecting a post punk rap combo not a straight up post punk song but this works way better then I would've thought. Very interested in what this album will be
I relistened to this album today and while I don't think I would put it in my top 10 for 2024 if I were to redo it, I really think this album is a pop masterpiece that will likely not be replicated for a long time going forward. It's very rare for an artist to capture pure emotional catharsis side by side with hedonistic partying while showing both in their best light.
There's a really good album buried in between "Lucky Town" and "Human Touch" if they were combined into one ten track project. Unfortunately, while "Human Touch" is a little better them the other album that Springsteen put out the same day, it's far too bloated to be among his best work.
Not quite as good as the excellent "Full of Hell & Merzbow" album, but still a really interesting project. Your mileage may vary though depending on how much you like harsh noise.
Really underrated, I feel like everyone forgets about this album because it came out in between two of his most acclaimed project's but this is one of Danny's best albums. Really great and weird attempt at making a more classic hip-hop album.
I got an urge to listen to this for the first time this morning, it was out of my control.
