ive never been a big fan of shakira’s tone but it sounds so good on this album and with this genre. she needs to put down the pop and reggaeton and go back to this sound it suits her so well. i remember my mom telling me years ago she preferred this shakira and i thought she was joking … turns out she was right.
also inevitable might be her best song ever.
favorite tracks: moscas en casa, inevitable, tú.
to start off, i think the vocals and instrumentation are gorgeous. i feel like when it comes to natalia the vocals and instrumentation are guaranteed to be good. that being said, i felt like this album had no sonic direction. it kind of felt like she didn’t know in terms of track placement, song pacing, etc. it felt more like a playlist of songs she made rather than a body of work. i wasn’t expecting it to be as great as “de todas las flores” since i know it’s hard ... read more
i love how whimsical and dynamic her voice is, i just wish the production could’ve matched it at times. i also really liked her songwriting and how she explored certain topics like womanhood and learning to overcome your burdens.
favorite tracks: the man with the child in his eyes, wuthering heights, feel it, oh to be in love.
this is such a good album to listen to at night, will definitely be in my fall rotation. on “atliens” outkast take a more laid back approach, with spacey production and even trip hop influences. i believe this was also around the time when andre was changing his lifestyle and it’s apparent in the maturity of his lyrics compared to their debut. outkast let out a more vulnerable side to them like discussing get older on the closing track.

i had a hard time deciding how i feel about this album because on one hand i do think twigs creates a nice atmosphere but at the same time i feel like the vibe/atmosphere was prioritized over production/cohesion. there’s some great songs here but then some meh songs, i feel like this album would be great as background music (not derogatory). i know a lot of ppl were disappointed in “eusexua” since it was marketed as a “rave” album and what we got was not that, but ... read more
i was pretty excited for this album because i loved motomami and i was enjoying the album rollout. my main issue is that she promoted the album as something grandiose and i feel like the album fell flat at times when it came to it feeling massive. as for the production there were times where i felt like some choices were made just for shock factor. great amazing vocals but i feel like that’s a given with rosalia. i wanted to like this album more but it was just missing something for ... read more
i really liked eusexua but some of these new tracks kind of ruin the flow that the original album had. i also was not the biggest fan of the newest songs, i loved "perfectly," "lonely but exciting road" is a grower, and the other two... "lonely but exciting road" was definitely a better closer than wanderlust tho.

lonely but exciting road

this is such a fun album and so cohesive. i know everyone loves “thriller” because it has the big hits but this album is just so smooth, has the hits, and flows so well.
favorite tracks: get on the floor, off the wall, it’s the falling in love.
a little one note but it’s a nice one note. this ep gives me abc family montage music for some reason. i just remember thinking this would be a good soundtrack for the fosters.
favorite tracks: the field, where we are now, outfield
fun listen but not something i would come back to. nothing really stands out imo great vocals tho.
edit: came back to this and i still think it’s decent but i feel like demi’s heart is not in it.
favorite tracks: here all night, little bit, kiss.
i know a lot of people view cupcakke as a comedic rapper and don’t take her seriously due to the very sexual nature of her music and i was one of those people. i came across a live of someone reacting to her album and i was kind of surprised by how much i liked the album. she’s not just a comedic rapper she’s a great rapper, her flow is crazy. i personally don’t mind raunchy lyrics but she’s so funny and witty with it. her rapping also has a lot of personality even ... read more
with caroline’s debut album she shows that she has a lot to offer one of those things being her vocals. i think one thing that you can’t deny about caroline is that she’s a great vocalist and this album clearly highlights that. her tone and vocals are so gorgeous and this is especially seen on songs like “insomnia” and “look at me now.” the production is nice and pleasant to listen to but i do wish it was a little more consistent throughout the album. ... read more
such an incredibly smooth, gorgeous album. when i was first listening to “brown sugar” i had to relisten because his falsetto is so pleasing to listen to. honestly his whole vocals performance throughout the album was amazing. even in songs like “damn shit motherfucker” he makes the cuss words sound nice in a weird way because he’s just such a great singer who knows how to convey emotion. crazy how this was his debut and he was only 21… great album, great ... read more
this is a cute feel good album. her voice is pretty and most of the songs are nice but at times the songs kind of blend together due to how similar they sound.
favorite tracks: nice to each other, so easy (to fall in love), loud
i first found out about jae stephens through her song “body favors” and ended up really liking that song but then i just never kept up with her. i recently found out she released an ep and i decided to listen to it. every song was enjoyable (the only one im kind of iffy about is “choosy” but that’s about it) the lyrics are silly but in a good way, it was just really enjoyable and fun. she has so much potential i can’t wait for her next release!
