LMAO I LOVE THIS SONG
Soulja Boy is such a little rat but I got to give it to the dude for dropping the best banger i’d never heard. The beat actually goes crazy I just wish it went for longer and that the tempo matched the original soundtrack. Hands down the bars are the funniest part though. I think that the violent gang threats combined with the hilarious Squid Game references are super entertaining, there is not one time I have listened to this song without laughing out loud, I ... read more
Cunning and Romantic
Biggest compliment about this album is the stellar quality to the recording. My favourite song is the title track because the chorus is so well written and composed on all accounts, everything else about it is just as good. Other tracks can hold their heads up and all have something different to put forward, the only one that rubs me the wrong way a little is Time Out Of Mind because it sounds like every song to come before it and carry's the least individual identity of ... read more
One of my favourite love songs of all time. I can feel the gorgeous purity of Janet’s emotions float to me in the build and release of the hook every time. When I Think Of You capitalises and captures what makes a love song enjoyable and sweet for the listener with the right amounts of relatability, groove and ambitious passion.
"CAN YOU SEE MY SHAAAADDOOOWWWWWW" ๐ฃ๐ฅ๐
Who hurt you bro because you got me teary eyed on a school night ๐ญ. I found the balance between your voice and the cello really beautiful especially just wanted to say. I didn't really mess with the crescendo of vocal repeats at 1:20 in the track and the vocal effects in the middle rubbed me the wrong way a bit, that's not even criticism though lmao that's just me being picky. Really good stuff here Nico I can say you've confidently ... read more
This album needs an Ego Death, people this isn’t even close to an 80.
So much of the time either Syd’s singing is being recorded with an iphone microphone or the drums are. Whichever one of those it is on whatever track it makes the song sound ugly and half-baked instead of raw or stripped back. Out of the dozen songs on the LP only four of them are actually good enough that I would return to them outside of this experience. It’s hard enough to call this an experience when ... read more
WE GET IT, YOU LIKE ASIAN GIRLS!!!!!!!!!!!
Donald raps like the biggest cry baby on this record and it is SO ANNOYING. The only 3 things he talks about on here are race, girls (mostly asian), and being underrated. After the first three tracks I had pretty much lost it. The tracks scored somewhere in the middle are because of the super dope production choices and beat selections, sometimes Glover might say one bar that lands well but ultimately he ruins songs on his own album lmao. Every time ... read more
Ugly with a few diamonds in the rough
I had never heard of or listened to a song by The Knife before hearing Deep Cuts. Because of the positive reception of the groups later LP’s I wanted to familiarise myself with their earlier catalogue. I came into this album just looking for a pretty above average electro-pop record and I came out with only a handful of good takeaway songs.
My time with the first four songs that were brilliant! All of them have lovely 80s synth-pop songwriting ... read more
The most hardcore jew ever ๐ฃ๏ธ๐ฅ
Kosher had me pausing to laugh kos I couldn’t continue after some of his bars. Actually a super talented rapper with great technical abilities. The wordplay and references scattered on here are big parts of popular culture and are easy to understand contextually first listen. Honestly after this drop I think he’s better than Tron.
Now man whoever is behind his beats is sabotaging him lowkey though. I HAVE HEARD MORE BELLS IN THE LAST 50 ... read more
Sadly this album has a failed vision. This is the least ‘Gorillaz’ Gorillaz album. Not enough performances from the band and more based around features that are badly placed. Because Atrocity Exhibition is my personal favourite album of all time I really liked that Damon gave Kelela and Danny Brown their own track and it was such a good one too. Aside from my fanboy fetishes there are some quality tracks in here and that’s mostly because of the renowned artists present. Some ... read more
I seriously got teary on the train when I heard Crown for the first time. The power of Arca!
Behind every "As She Pleases" enjoyer there is a 10 year old who thinks that they are too grown up for Justin Bieber now. This EP is actually offensive, no passion whatsoever was put into this. Madison being pop music's most beloved industry plant, should have tried to prove herself as a standout in the crowd but manages to land head first in shit. Even while having the talent, the budget and the ambition she didn't have the inspiration. Madison Beer leaves so little quality to the ... read more
The Kick Inside is proof that even after making a hit song for Stranger Things, Kate Bush continues to make music and move past the label of being a one hit wonder. Moving is my favourite song by her and I love it so much. No misses.
I actually quite like Por Vida. It has a charming lovesick daydream quality to it. Kali’s singing is clear and complex and gets well utilised on the hooks like on Speed, Call Me and Know What I Want. Her vocal talents bring a great juxtaposition to the production choices like on the track Melting.
The style Kali Uchis is tampering with feels like a modern play on Sade’s work especially on the tracks with prominent drums like Rush because no matter how much you try her voice ... read more
