Good background music, but a boring in-depth listen.
V from BTS has got a nice voice even with their english singing, I think it compliments the Lo-Fi and Jazz fusion well. Slow Dancing obviously is the best song on here, it wasn’t excellent but it had compelling writing and okay production, whichever version you like more depends on you to be honest they are basically the same song lol. This song was fine in all departments until I realised that ghastly cowbell and now I can't unhear ... read more
BONG BONG BONG BONG BONG BONG BONG BONG
some of the lyrics are funny for instance "pussy tight like a nun" but it isn't enough to save the song from the unpalatable beat.
Remi cooked. I was harsh but fair about Remi's last LP under their different alias but I have been notified by the creator themselves about their new artistic identity and I am very glad I checked it out. When pressing play on A Familiar Place I was not anticipating the sonic journey I ended up having. I think this is a very amateur release because you don't sound completely practiced at the style yet, but all of the songs were brainstormed well and executed in a pleasing way which shows how ... read more
I love this! Such a fun teenage angst pop-punk project, I am for sure going to be enjoying this for the rest of the year. There are some artificial problems with the songs in here like how get him back! has very stale fairytale-esque verses but totally epic stadium hooks. This is my biggest issue with GUTS because it happens too many times to make a consistent 40 minute listen every time. I think that SOUR was extremely mature for an 18 year old and that was the biggest beauty of that record so ... read more
First Westside Gunn song to make me feel like I'm jumping on clouds of cotton candy.
When you think class finna be dogshit and this bop come on the whole class get turnt. Also you lying if you've never been the only person in the class to get a question wrong and then try and hide your screen. Absolute fye, the sound of my teenage years.
Not what I expected when people said this album has ‘trap bangers’, for the record I was pleasantly surprised. I deeply enjoy the writing on trip9love…??? it is moody and volatile which is complimented by the hazey trip-hop singing. I also love how there is so much space in the songs where parts echo and make the sonic area that the music lives in feel really wide. That might only make sense to me though because I haven’t seen anyone else comment on that aspect.

If Arctic Monkeys and Twenty One Pilots had a baby.
I really dislike the pulling of influences this band brings on the record. On this LP Royal Blood chose to sound like Blurryface which is horrible and I don't fully understand why. As soon as you fire up this bad boy and press play on Mountains At Midnight you're strapped in for an album with uncreative guitar sections that are distorted so horribly you can barely tell they have changed chord. This problem doesn't stop, there isn't one song ... read more
Hi Remi :D I'm sorry please don't take this personally because you have always support to me on this site and have consistently liked my reviews. I promise I am not just saying this to pile on but I didn't really like this. I think the most consistent flaw present in the LP are the gross electronic synthesizers. They are shaky and misplaced like at the not so epic beginning of Embrace The Failure where the build-up is too short and super artificial. The melodies are my favourite thing about The ... read more
Dawg think she Melanie Martinez 😭
Her flow is tacky and annoying, the carnival upwards crescendo beat is too repetitive and it doesn't get switched up. The childish tones and production choices don't make it creepy or aesthetically interesting but only more uninteresting. I can't think of something nice to say about this song, its a mess of tropes.
I don't really know how to talk about this kind of music because I don't have the developed vocabulary but what I know is that there is something here that I like. I love the picture painting aggressive wailing and the feral guitar playing of it all. This hybrid show of hardcore is over the top while still managing to keep it catchy with repetitive and memorable hooks that give balance between the madness and the merriment. There are duds on here that take away my experience like the last ... read more
There was a reason he wasn’t invited to join the Jackson 5.
I won’t even lie the idea is there but it is executed in classic dog crap Cory Feldman fashion. I really like the attitude in the lyrics/singing and the song structure is super clean but I hate this production. The trap style high hats and pedal guitars are distasteful and poorly assembled to where they take away from the enjoyability when they are present. The elements I liked the most were the robotic harmony vocal ... read more
I mean I asked for it, I asked have a bad time but I didn’t think it would be this bad. I should have thought twice after reading the title.
Cool song ideas but it’s not like they’re original whatsoever. I found ever single song draining of my attention and energy, There is a horrible clash between Dream’s robotic voice and the acoustic instruments like on Paranoid, also the pauses of silence where everything cuts doesn’t work at all, it is poorly timed and is ... read more
Tell me I wasn’t the only one solving the maze while figuring out the reason for my existence.
I am so happy this thing is out I was blown away first second and third listen. I am having a blast with these big bands making big comebacks in 2023, it’s so nice to hear these guys sounding not even a day older than Souvlaki. Now that it’s out the 20 year old neckbearded redditers can rest their keyboard warrior hands and enjoy some good ass music. Thankyou Slowdive :)

More like bullet for my head. I can’t believe I used to like this 😫 what was I thinking.
No artistic development and choosing to stick to what worked in the past doesn't work second time around.
I think that the Paradise EP was an experiment to see if she could make money a second time with the formula of Born To Die. But credit is due for some of the right decisions, I think that Ride is one of her best early works and has aged pretty well and poorly depending on how you look at it. Ride is a great experience though I think the superior way to experience it is by watching the ... read more
I am jumping with joy that we're receiving more Armand Hammer! The Peggy beat was cold as shit also, if this becomes more than I single I might scream.
The Denzel set list was better but I think Clairo gave us a stronger performance overall.
EDIT: I think that Clairo performed most of these better than the actually studio versions especially because of the production but she also keeps the Lo-Fi vibes with it and not tarnishing their brand.
