Liturgy - Immortal Life

Not the greatest start for what they would resume to build and become, but I enjoyed the MBV cover and Vessel of Everthirst thoroughly enough.

Liturgy - Immortal Life II
50

I hadn't heard the original EP that this was reissued from so I went and heard that on top of this release and its night and day that this is better, but the other has a more violent edginess to it because of its chaotic distortion so if you prefer that one I really can't blame you. I admire how this iteration of the original has more screaming which I don't know if there was on the original or if it was too hard to make out lol but because of the polish I appreciate how gorgeous it sounds on ... read more

Cynthoni - Sewerslvt Presents: Cynthoni, Pt. 1
29

I'm not going to even pretend like this is good. Drum and Bass to an untrained ear can sound like the same song every time and it has to be done right to give each track its own share of life, sadly some of the songs on Cynthoni Pt. 1 don't even try to present distinct ideas. There are different synthesizers and different types of drum hats on different tracks but the actual songs don't have a grip on what they want to be amongst themselves.

By the time I got to Lychee Ice the Drum and Bass ... read more

Nicki Minaj, Drake & Lil Wayne - No Frauds

It may not be the most effective diss but it goes so insanely hard and Remy Ma could never make anything near this so it made her instantly lose. Awesome verses from everyone with tons of quotables moments, everyone should know about this.

samlrc - A Lonely Sinner
54

I think this album is pretty overrated but I enjoy a heap of the aesthetics. When I listened to this my headspace felt so much cleaner and I lost a bit of touch with reality when when Sinner came on, I meditated all the way through this song I found it amazing.

I like a heap moments on here a lot but I’m not fond of the child talking on Storge, as far as i’m concerned it’s not narratively connected and little kids saying the same thing isn’t my cup of tea. Storge may ... read more

Mori Calliope - JIGOKU 6
18

Fuck this woman and everything she stands for, I had to turn on private session for this.

This was an abusive attack on my senses and it tested my patience. I really don't like Mori's singing or her rapping, she pushes everything to the biggest extreme and exaggerates songs which leaves no moments for recovery as a consumer. Just because your song has 50 tracks worth of detail it doesn't mean its carefully produced it just means you don't know where to stop. I didn't find this EP boring ... read more

Knocked Loose - You Won't Go Before You're Supposed To
87

I've been listening to Horses by Patti Smith a lot recently and funny thing is that the imagery on that album can go toe-to-toe with the scripture on here lol.

I'm messing with this a lot, metal and its apprentice genres aren't my favourite areas of music mostly because I have an untrained ear to it but I've listened to enough of it to know that what I'm looking at is fantastic. You Won't Go Before You're Supposed To is a richly produced album and a super sound listen, I love its writing and ... read more

4batz - u made me a st4r
43

First of all I wanna say this because I deserve recognition for my determination to the craft but it took me 15 complete listens of u made me a st4r before I made my opinion. I was really divided and then I started disagreeing with myself but the more and more I listened I finally understood how I feel about this mixtape.

Everyone knows 4batz for their TikTok presence and the marketing of their single act ii: date @ 8. I liked this song enough and I still do but now I know the context of ... read more

Camila Cabello - HE KNOWS
30

Babe don't wake up Camilla Cabello just dropped. This album run isn't anything special, the claps in the instrumental get boring really fast and the wailing siren singing several tracks deep in the background it so silly it makes me laugh out loud because of how silly it sounds. I don't want to be mean to my gay king but Lil Nas X did not slide on here. His part wasn't very flattering and I reckon the single would have been better without him sadly. HE KNOWS isn't great and I think if there was ... read more

Gunna - One of Wun
31

I am a Gunna disliker. I didn’t chose to be he just didn’t give me a reason to like him. No Diddy but what do people see in him.

In this uniform of trap there isn’t a lot of reason to innovate or expand from the roots because the audience is already there and they eat up these releases regardless of the substance. Gunna is the mainstream’s king when it comes to making music that lacks personality, there isn’t a single song by him that I can say is above an 8 yet. ... read more

I wanna like this more but its only juuuusst missing the stamp of approval.

360 is cool and I like its cutesy digital life theme, instrumental is clean and the singing is awesome. I wish this was longer thoooooough. There isn't a lot of development in the song and it stays the same Bubblegum-Pop song the entire time. I would have liked a little bit more of a development as the pre-chorus arrives because the build feels lackluster even if I still like the chorus a lot. Otherwise this is such a ... read more

The Chainsmokers - No Hard Feelings
10

This is atrocious I had a negative experience with this. Its not only that the songs aren't memorable or interesting its just that there is so little difference between the identity of each song. I listened to this EP more than once and my brain went into system restore mode and loaded from its most recent backup deleting any memory of what this even sounded like, it was that forgettable. I really dislike the singing on this project, the aftereffects on everyone's vocals are trash and the ... read more

Look even though my score isn't the highest I have explain myself. I love Snow Strippers I really think they are putting out some of the best Electropop to date, they are just an incredible duo with a fantastic ear for balance and equilibrium in their music. I have never listened to a Snow Strippers song and thought "yeah they're doing too much here it doesn't work", their songs don't always work completely but they create experiences and I really admire their artistry.

Mach-Hommy - #RICHAXXHAITIAN
92

Nah this song gives me all the right kinds of goosebumps. The way he flows along the beat alone is just insanely talented. The chorus is also amazing, I love 03 Greedo’s singing even if it’s coated in autotune it just works so well. He’s never been an artist I have liked but this works wonders for him. Both artists sound so choppy and abstract its perfection, especially the way KAYTRANADA’s Pop beat managed to match Mach’s abstract style on this cut.

Kendrick Lamar - euphoria
100

This song is so perfect. The wordplay the hidden metaphors and similes. AUUUGHGHGHH ITS TOOOOO GOOOOOOD. Kendrick packed a punch with this one and he obliterated his target. The dissection and criticism is fantastic while also being hilarious and serious at the same time?! LIKE HOW!??! One of the best disses ever, its totally up there with Ether, Who Shot ya?, Takeover, No Vaseline and Killshot. MWAH THANKYOU KENDRICK.

Metro Boomin - BBL DRIZZY BPM 150.mp3

LMAOOOOOOOOOO you can’t make this shit up ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ

Metro on the sideline going crazy with the drums. If Kendrick hops on this beat then I can die happily.

Kendrick Lamar - Not Like Us
90

Dot is literally the best rapper alive and the fact that he’s dropping some of the most unfuckwithable disses on the industry’s favourite lightskin is hilarious. This beef has brought some of the BEST rap songs of the year and as a hip-hop fan this is my absolute wet dream. Twitter is having a meltdown on Kendrick saying Drake won because the mole fed him false information, but that sounds like the biggest cope ever just to defend the MTG allegations. AOTY know who’s really ... read more

Kendrick Lamar - meet the grahams

He put that boy in his place. Drake should have never gotten petty and brought family into this. Fantastic diss this will be talked about for a hundred years to come. HISTORY WAS MADE TODAY.
