I can understand why this album is so acclaimed, but the genre is not exactly my thing. only shallow is a fantastic opener, though
Upon further examination, this actually be my favorite Tame Impala record. While I have enjoyed every single one of their records (yes, including Deadbeat), there's something about this album that sits different. It's psychedelic, but whereas Currents felt more "mainstream" (kinda sorta), this record comes off as mature and free. Good music for the sake of good music. And the album art reflects it perfectly
If you find it boring, keep revisiting it!

If you want to introduce someone to jazz, this is the album you show them
It's not the flashiest, most deep, or mystifying, but what it is is very accessible, very competent, and very beautiful. Then you branch out into deeper cuts. It's a classic
FUN FACT: Ryo Fukui didn't start playing piano until his 20s. Very inspirational for anyone looking to pick up an instrument!
I am going to go contrary to what I'm seeing here in the reviews - this is a really great single. Not as good as The Happy Dictator, but such a welcome addition. If this trend continues, this album will be as strong as Plastic Beach, and I am SO ready for that
Overplayed and taken over by cringe, but the song itself is fire. One of Tombstone's best
Inferior to the original version, but cool. B-sides like this would be cool to see. Matt needs a little more edge to his voice/musicality though. Everything is solid, but it lacks any punch
Easily his best and most accessible album. If someone hasn't heard of Tame Impala, THIS is where you start them at. AOTY?
