The one and only thing keeping this from being my favorite Static-X record is how shitty the mixing is. The lyrics, melody, drums, etc. are performed incredibly well, but this thing was not mixed well at all. That being said, I don't hate any of the songs! They're quite fun and catchy, and the guitar solos are some of my favorite solos I've ever heard (especially on Skinned). If you're going to listen to a Static-X album, don't make this your first, as it's kinda ... read more
Every single track on this is belligerent nonsense, and it's the fucking best. This thing aged crazy well, and holds up incredibly well. Wayne screams like it's nothing, Tony's bass tone is fat and crisp and his backing vocals are powerful and deep, Koichi is incredibly good with his guitar, and Ken's drumming is phenomenal. Speaking of the drums, they actually used triggers for the kick and snare, allowing for the drums to have a blend of electronic and acoustic sounds, which sound really ... read more
This is one of my favorite rap albums of all time, and it should be yours too. Danny's delivery is on point, the beats are phenomenal, and the features are perfect picks. His voice is super enjoyable to listen to, and his lyrics are comical, yet clever. The closing track is a perfect 100/100 track.

There isn't a lot to say about this project that hasn't already been said. Each track transports you to a different location, a different point in time, a different lifetime. There are some tracks that have made me break down sobbing, and some tracks that have had me chilling and dancing. It's 100% worth a listen, whether you like electronic/ambient music or not. This album forever proves that Richard D. James is a musical genius.

I don't think I'll ever hear another album that resonates with me so deeply. This record credibly emotional and raw, and Manson comes off so vulnerable that you have to give him props for it. It's my personal favorite MM record, but it's objectively not his best. There are some moments on here that have brought me pretty close to tears, and there are tracks on here that make me wanna dance. Even if you aren't a fan of the sound, lyrically it's incredibly introspective and dark. It's no wonder ... read more
Dark, gritty, and raw. Each song brings something new to the table, while still staying true to the overall vibe of the album. It's a good listen really late at night. The only thing that might not be to everyone's liking is the vocalists. It's very grungey and mumbly, but I personally like it.

UIB is one of my absolute favorite modern pop albums. It's super easy listening. The persona of Turbo is also funny as shit, so there's that, too.

I can't review this in full. There's nothing to say. Its a perfect album.
You only hate this cuz it's popular to hate this.
Wheatus' self titled record is upbeat, silly, and odd, yet totally enjoyable in its weirdness. Every track is memorable, catchy, and mood-boosting. It's definitely not for everyone, as it is a little cheesy here and there, but for me... its pretty damn enjoyable. A love it or hate it record, and I love it. Why take anti depressants when you have Wheatus?

Dark Days is pure rage in audio format. Every song is like a kick in the nuts... But in a good way, somehow. The first thing that comes to mind with this album is how well the vocals are mixed. They're mixed to the point of sounding distorted, without having any distortion on it, super crispy. The drum tone, especially with the snare and hats, sound raw and punchy with a bit of reverb.

A lot of this album is just impressively good. Holy Wood is a phenomenal rock opera about religion and the state of America. Lyrically, it's one of his best, sonically its captivating and agressive, and has some very dark tones. It reminds me of NIN's The Downward Spiral, just more rock-centric and rebellious in nature. It's one of the first albums that comes to mind when i hear "Industrial metal".
