I gave going...going...GONE! a 99/100 because it didn't have sever the blight, and this album has sever the blight.
On a more serious note, I've been a fan of hemlocke springs since 2022. I considered myself a locket when stranger danger and sever the blight dropped, two incredible songs. When she followed that up with heavun and enknee1, I realized just how much of an incredible artist hemlocke really was. She has such a uniquely authentic form of expressing herself, with near-poetic ... read more
kinda gets repetitive over time, the first few tracks are nice but it feels like you run out of steam about a third of the way in, and this album is only like 30 minutes. some good concepts are here, but I guess I'm just not really into UK Hip Hop like that. I can see why people like it, though.
Some really good beats, great time listening to this at 9pm walking around my neighborhood looking like a total bum <3
Great energy, fun delivery, it does get a bit repetitive near the end (didn't care much for Climbatize) but still solid stuff! Best tracks imo were Breathe, Funky Shit, and Fuel My Fire
Yeah okay I get the hype damn. Insane, loud, abrasive, pretty much a super energetic successor to Starfucker. There's the same biting irony, but less synthpop, and more Plastic. The writing is great, the production is brain melting, and when these songs reach their peaks, they're nothing short of purified adrenaline. Extremely good.
I can't really give a good faith review to this because I know it's an album with a lot of fans who appreciate its avant-garde sound, but it just didn't really do that for me at all. I really wanted to like it; I went into it excited, but it just fell flat for me. I enjoyed the bass playing, but a lot of songs felt disjointed or like they never really went anywhere. sometimes the vocals worked, other times they felt drowned out. There are moments of good on here, especially near ... read more
Really good, actually! Surprising how much this album tries and how much of it sticks. Is it all perfect? Not exactly, I think a couple tracks could've been folded into one another, but this is a very fun album that feels like it's not necessarily defined to any one box. It feels ethereal at times, but at other times, it can feel really down to earth. Either way, there's some great stuff on display here, especially in terms of production, Seriously, this is just a solid-ass album ... read more
