WHAT ARE YOU DOING???? WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS?
Tbh i thought i was gonna absolutely hate this from the first few seconds but turns out it's just kind of not good.
The sound is very synth heavy and it sounds overprocessed with a bunch of vocal effects which once again just ruin Matt's voice. The lyrics sound corny as hell and this reminds me of some of the shit you'd hear on "The 2nd Law" or the poppier stuff on "Simulation Theory".
What a fucking mess. Atleast it's not ... read more
"So here we are" is just one of those "light at the end of the tunnel" songs for me and "Positive Tension" is just a fun banger
Dammit man. Dammit.
The verses here aren't horrible but I hate the chorus and the song generally sounds just okay, the production is once again decent but I feel like Kele doesn't feel completely at home with his voice on these new singles. The outro isn't bad but once again, something's missing and this just isn't as catchy as it probably could be. Like there's no real pay off, the song just kind of starts, 3 minutes go by and before I even know it it's over. I don't get lost in the beat, ... read more
The end of Muse's Radiohead trilogy.
I haven't reviewed an album in a while actually. I don't think anyone missed me or anything but here I am anyway.
"Absolution" is the last glimpse of Radiohead Muse has truly left with their sound, with some of their more proggy and noisy ideas from "Origin of Symmetry" taking a back seat to more streamlined piano based tracks and some more straight forward hard rock guitar tunes.
The guitar based tracks are easily my favourite on the ... read more
Happy Black History Month guys!!! :DDDDD
(this song has nothing to do with black history month outside of the title but hey it is good i reccomend)
200th review.
I wanted my 200th review to be something big but fuck it there's a new Bloc Party song so you already know what that means.
I have similar issues with this that I had with "Traps". This just feels a bit too monotenous and could've probably used a better hook. However, even "Traps" feels like atleast has some more life to it.
This is just kind of eh. Like I thought the guitars sounded great and there's a nice solo near the end, but I jost don't think this is ... read more
what the actual fuck i just realised that GAYLE is 3 months younger than me.
Genuienly explains a lot tbh. Jesus man, this is fucking horrible and disgusting. I had some "funny" review of this written here before but honestly I don't even find this funny anymore. You're 17 and you're writing about being used by someone for sex.
If this song is coming from experience (which i hope not) then please get help. Please.
ALSO HOW DID THIS GET APPROVED? HOW CAN A SONG AS BAD AND AS ... read more
Weed: The Album
I fucking love this album man. The atmosphere is wonderful and it literally sounds like a few crack addicts fucking around in the middle of nowhere.
Despite how fucking stupid that description sounds, the atmosphere here is on point.
In terms of sound, think early QOTSA with a dash more psychadelic production and some more compressed thicker guitarwork.
Not much to say about this one tbh. If you like early QOTSA, you will love this.
Best tracks: "Gardenia", ... read more
THEY MADE A SONG!!!! THAT'S NOT ASS!!!!!
seriously im surprised how much better i noticed that this is in context of the rest of their discography
The most generic and predictable rock song of all time with some drill sargent samples thrown in.
It's well produced and the bassline is decent but it gets old quickly. The lyrics don't help that much as it sounds like a generic way of talking about how military and the war dehumanizes people or rather turns them into psychos.
Also it sounds like a car commercial.
This sounds like Simulation Theory + Drones.
Matt's vocal performance on the verses sound like shit but the guitars on the chorus and the energy of it do kinda resonate with me. I am not too sure if I am into this one tbh. It's not bad but god the verses just kind of ruin the first half of the track for me and the pay off is not enough to make this anything more than an okay song.
God damn that effect just butchers Matt's voice. I genuienly believe the song would be atleast a bit better if ... read more
This album cover sure would look great on a T-shirt.
Ayeeee I'm finally reviewing a good album again yaaaay!
Sadly I don't think I have much to say right now other than the fact that I thought that this was really really good. The basslines are amazing the atmosphere is *almost* untouchable, the production is spacious and overall this album just resonated a lot with me... For the most part.
Yeah I'm just having some issues getting into the vocals on some of these songs, most notable examples ... read more
