Sure this is horrible but these lyrics are some of the funniest shit I've ever heard.
This is by the same guy that wrote Obstacle 1
Watered down Absolution with more synths and more pop oriented production.
Doesn't quite reach the same heights that the previous two albums do, but it feels like a much more consistant album than either OOS or Absolution. It also doesn't drag on nearly as much as those albums. It also has a much better closing stretch, thanks to tracks like a "Knights of Cydonia", "Exo-Politics", "City of Delusion", and "Assassin" making it actually the better side of ... read more
Rating 300 - The album that got me into rock music... yes seriously
Yes, it was indeed the songs from this album that made me like rock music and help me build a foundation to my current taste in music. I used to listen to the singles on this album a lot when I was a kid. These songs followed me throughout my childhood/early teenage years. I would listen to them whenever I wasn't listening to EDM garbage and they were even part of the soundtracks of video games I was playing at the time, so of ... read more
Hey mom can we get Uprising?
We have Uprising at home
Uprising at home:
(((YEAH NEVERMIND, THIS IS THE WORST SINGLE)))
(((IGNORE THIS LAST PART, THIS IS TOTALLY WORSE THAN WON'T STAND DOWN)))
Yeah it just sounds like a more corny Uprising, but I guess it's better than the last two singles
Dammit man, what happened?
Interpol up to this point had a pretty good 3 album run and while the band showed steady decline with each release, it seems that the quality nosedived with the band's 4th album.
This doesn't have the dark and dense atmosphere of TOTBL, the catchy riffs of Antics, or the good production of OLTA. All of this is thrown out the window in favour of a more stripped back sound that doesn't provide any kind of excitement any of the previous records did.
Like this isn't ... read more
Well this is just straight up a nice song.
If you didn't like the more piano based sound of the previous singles, then you can breathe out a sigh of relief because this sounds more like conventional Interpol than the previous two singles.
While I appreciate the atmosphere they went for on the previous two singles more than this, the instrumentation here feels a lot more fleshed out and GOD DAMN it's just making me feel nice inside.
Like is this gonna be it? Finally an album that I was hyped ... read more
You made it too catchy, it gets stuck in my head easily and I can't focus on anything after listening to it.
ugh....
Alpha Games is a collection of "all show, no go" generic alternative rock songs that just manage to be better than the band's worst material.
Bloc Party has left us with 2016's HYMNS which was an extremely boring, minimal, lazy album that was generally disliked among fans and critics.
What Bloc Party needed to do was strike back, giving us something refreshing, fun and energitic (or y'know not HYMNS). This album was promised to be just that, a return to form for Bloc ... read more
Thank you @KillBill for the album recommendation, I am glad I checked this album out. I kind of enjoyed it, it certainly wasn't a bad listen.
This album is a mixed bag. It tries quite a few genres with disco, pop, theatrecore, alt rock, hard rock, ambient, country, etc. It does make for some fun songs and some decent material but unfortunately the album as a whole feels a bit unfocused.
The main issues are the production which either sou

Significantly better than his pop punk stuff.
Thanks NFS Heat for introducing me to this lol
It's a follow up to Antics and it sounds like that.
The opening track kind of baits you into thinking that this is going to be a more cinematic experience, similar to what you'd find on TOTBL, however this quickly gets thrown away for a more garage rock sound found on Antics.
This isn't a bad thing though, the band hone their skill and manage to fill their sound a bit more than what was found on the previous album. "The Heinrich Maneuver" and "All Fired Up" are two of the ... read more
Another single already eh?
Once again, it sounds a bit blank and it misses that staple amazing Interpol guitarwork, but Paul's vocals are really well done here and the production here is quite good once again.
Decent effort, I just hope that not all of the songs are piano focused on the full album.
This actually sounds kind of nice.
I still think there's something missing here, but it sounds nice on the ears and it's better than the last two singles. Kele actually sounds more comfortable here and the song sounds kind of catchy as well.
Not massively amazing, but it's a decent little track
