Warning... oh my god... where do I start...
I did a deep dive in to Warning a couple of days ago (atleast into their stuff thats on streaming as I did do some research and they have demos and stuff that are elsewhere), and they're my favorite band now pretty handily. The emotions conveyed through Patrick Walker's vocals are incredible, and the drumming and riffing works so well in conjunction. The first time I listened to Warning was in May, a mutual on Twitter recommended me a ... read more
Oh my goodness gracious, thank you Greep my lord for dropping this wonderful album I feel so happy in so long (like a week).
I have been waiting impatiently and excitedly for this album, ever since I first heard Holy, Holy so long ago. I made it a statement to be annoying and over the top with my newfound love for the entity known as Geordie Greep. And good god, this album it's quite incredible and very likely to be a future 10 for me. The jazziness and Latin elements are so nice and the ... read more
I did not expect to enjoy this album as much as I did, considering I'm not very well-versed in MLP and I've last watched that show years ago. But holy shit, it's fucking good. The production is amazing and full of character, the vocals are good too ig, but the main thing that got me really loving it was just how emotional and vulnerable it gets with the lyrics. Just quite shocked with this.
The "first" death metal album and it's made by high schoolers!?!?! Actually fucking insane because the riffs and performances on this are quite amazing and are basically the standard for death metal. Very fucking sick.
Even with their first album, which was also one of the first death metal albums ever it seems, Death proves themselves to be very capable and very talented. The riffs and instrumentation are heavy and while it does sound pretty basic lyrically and what not, it's done very well. However that being said, Scream Bloody Gore is definitely the weakest Death album I've heard so far and the standard death metal lyrics about gore is not to my particular taste.
Holy fuck, Death is genuinely one of the most incredible bands ever. Nearly on the level of Symbolic and potentially a future 10 from me which is crazy. The Sound of Perseverance is a lot more torturous and anguished in sound and sounds exactly like the cover, humans desperately climbing up a mountain in what looks like hell. But digging into the theme and lyrics and you see it's not really like that. It's, as the title suggests, about perseverance in life through all the hardships ... read more
