This album definitely benefits from the fact that it's short. Longer, it could've been too much. The first half of this record is pretty much perfect, honestly. In my AOTY talks for sure.
Not my cup of tea. Pretty hard to criticize, however. It's a very equal album all-around.
Sounds like a lot of other sad boy indie pop albums out there, but I don't mind. It's still pretty enjoyable.
I'm not usually the biggest fan of albums in this genre (Gangsta Rap, i guess). I usually get bored after a few songs, but somehow in Oxymoron, I don't. I'm a fan of this project
It's better than It Is What It Is, but I like Thundercat better as a producer. It's good vibes, but there isn't really a high point on the record.
I wasn't a big fan of Brent's music before this release, but it's changing now. I never thought I could say this, but a 5 minute skit might be the best track on here...
The album's growing on me. There are songs that I don't like, definitely, but there's something interesting about this project that I can't explain.
This just feels like one very big and well executed art project. There's a very fun production on some songs, and yet there's still room for some more emotional songs, but it all blends in together very well. It's a very interesting project, probably one of my favorite dream pop/synthpop LP of all time.
After revisiting this record, I can safely say that I don't think that this aibum was as good as I thought after my first listen. The first half is decent, but the second isn't as solid.
I actually prefer this album to their previous release. I think it's much more accessible for a casual music fan to appreciate. Also, the song titles are in majority a lot shorter, and I love that. (jk but not really jk lol).
I don't like the vibe of this project, nor the vocals. Just not very enjoyable for my ears, but I can see why some people would like this.
You know, I don't think it's as bad as Act 1, but this is still not good. Can't really point out a high on this album, but ''I'm Happy'' is sooooooo bad.
Didn't know anything about Alfie beforehand. It's definitely much better than how I imagined it could be. Maybe a bit too long, but very easy listening kinda vibe.
Ranks as second best album in Halsey's discography in my mind. Sounds like a much more mature album, and much easier to appreciate as well.
Slightly better than Badlands, but I can't really say I understand the hype and huge following that Halsey has. It's a mystery so far.
