I don't even know what to say. It's beautiful, and it feels like every inch of this album has been created in the best way that it could. While I don't think it's a perfect album, it's probably my favorite album of this genre so far this year.
This record is long, but somehow, doesn't feel too long. It's got some charming songs that feel like a hug after a bad day. The fact that the duo can still release a great album like this years into their career says a lot about their talent as songwriters.
I think I like Ari better as a feature artist. I've never heard Shea Butter Baby, but from what I've heard here, I've got a hard time staying interested for the entire forty minutes or so.
God this is boring. It's not SUPER TERRIBLE, but it's just so long and similar. It feels like every Nav album is just one long ass song.
I can't say I've been overly impressed with Saba's albums so far, but i'd say it's a kind of a good go to artist. I think it can please a lot of different kind of music fans. This isn't hip hop AOTY worthy, but it's enjoyable and doesn't feel like a setback in Saba's discography.
I used to defend Tickets To My Downfall, saying it wasn't as bad as people made it seem like. To be honest, I can't defend him on this one. This is straight up bad. It's like he tried to replicate his previous album, but failed miserably.
It's good, but it lacks something. Him pretty much on his own for the entirety of the album does show how good of a producer he is, though.
While it doesn't reinvent the genre, I was pleasently surprised with how good this album sounds. A very gentle style, and I now want to hear more of Julia Jacklin
This is such a sweet album. There's been some great releases in R&B this year, but this record definitely competes with some of the bigger names in the industry. I absolutely love this.
I waited for quite a long time before listening to this, but I should've given this a listen before. Everything just flows well, and while I'm not usually a huge fan of prog music, this was normal enough for me to enjoy.
I don't honestly know what I expected from this, but this has to be one of the most Megadeth sounding album ever. Do you know what I mean? It just sounds like every Megadeth album I've ever heard... Doesn't make a whole lot of sense, so I'll stop here.
This has to be one of the most original, inspired and unexpected album of 2022. I don't think there's a single moment on this album that I can say that I really dislike, and I feel like the features do complement their music really well.
This is better than what he released earlier this year. While it's much shorter, it's also much more concise. I'll have to check out the rest of his discography, because that album hyped me up a little.
Well that was... surprising. To think that this album was released in 2013 is mad. Add to that that the dude was 15 when this was released, and it's even more impressive. More people should know about this record, honestly.
So the album is filled with some of the biggest names in music right now. Again. And this thing is not good. Again. So where did it go wrong? There's one person that is on every song: DJ KHALED HIMSELF (yes I know it's his album, but stick with me here). Whatever he's doing here, the singi... wait no the produci... oh no how about mixi... well I don't know if he does anything but scream, but he's doing it wrong.
While this thing can be messy sometimes, it's got some of Kanye's most underrated songs ever. It might be a little too long, which could explain why people don't like this record as much as his previous releases.
The more you listen to this album, the more you're able to appreciate where Ye was trying to go with this record. No doubt that this is a gamechanger for experimental hip hop.
The highs are very high, the lows are very low, let's put it that way. I would've expected a better overall album coming from two of the GOATs, honestly.
