Showcasing mgk's hungry flow and sly wordplay, the effort is one of his most focused, unencumbered by the star-studded distractions of the pop-friendly Bloom.
There’s little evidence that suggests this extended player wasn’t compiled of songs that were laying around when it came time to package up “Rap Devil.”
Important ideas become ambiguous and lost thanks to under-exploration, making it feel directionless; a diss track lumped in the middle makes little thematic or cohesive sense either, adding to the EP’s awkward flow.
The irony here is that Binge is probably the worst release he’s ever put out, and signifies his impending fade into obscurity if this is what the ’Rap Devil’ has to offer us in the future.
Wait, wait. You mean to tell me that on a day we got new Brockhampton, Lupe, and Milo that there are actually people that went and listened to this?
This is probably one of his worst pieces. When he raps it feels like the lyrics are freestyled but by a 5-year-old. The beats are also horrendously boosted and overdone in most of this. It also seems like in several songs he is chasing the beat. It just doesn't work for me personally. He definitely needs to stick to pop-punk and pop-rock with much more methodical lyrics
