The Telegraph
It doesn’t seem to matter who’s in the revolving-door girl band, what counts is that their management has hauled in a bunch of top-flight pop producers for an album of catchy, cod-sexy, hi-NRG cheese that will ensure jammed and joyful school discos and gay club dance floors.

Sweet 7 is never short of an infectious hook or club-friendly production, but undoubtedly betrays the experimental sensibilities that set them apart from their contemporaries.

‘Sweet 7’ leaves us hankering after the good old days.

The Guardian
A couple of tracks – Wear My Kiss, About a Girl – have escaped with some quirky Britishness intact, but most are in either in thrall to Lady Gaga's robotronic sound or, as with the oozing lust of Get Sexy, just wrong for this particular band.

The departure of their leader sees the girl-group — Heidi Range, Amelle Berrabah and Jade Ewen, if you're struggling to keep up — grasping for an identity on Sweet 7.

Drowned in Sound

Whether or not this replacement process is acceptable or not is rendered totally pointless upon hearing the album; the discussion should solely focus on how this record is quite so terrible, when so much time, planning and money has been thrown at it.

For all the involvement of new writers and producers ... there's nothing here with anything like the adhesive, infectious quality of "Push The Button". Mostly, it's just generic disco stompers … and even the better tracks … practice a craven form of extreme self-objectification.

Going into this I thought I would love it since it's their first full foray into electro pop and it was produced by the top american producers of the time but unfortunately this album is simply… their worst.
Who thought that a Sugababes and Sean Kingston collaboration was a good idea? Why were their voices so autotuned in certain tracks? Why is the production just so trashy at moments? All questions that remain unanswered. The final nail in the coffin was Keisha getting kicked out of ... read more

i have a theory that the late-00s/early-10s electropop reappraisal has quite a similar achilles' heel to the one for disco, in that—while there were blatantly bad-faith reasons for the initial backlash, and a lot of good stuff got unfairly hate-trained—for every "you make me feel" there's about 30,000 "disco duck"s that make it glaringly obvious why everyone got so sick of this shit in the first place. if "animal" and "the fame" are good ... read more

I'm not buying this album at all. Made very for radio and not for artistic puropose. I get it that's the new line up, but U'm not talking about their voices, but about music, and beats. Lyrics are not my favourite too.
