Confidently carving out his niche by adding accents to his sound and treading unfamiliar, experimental waters with confidence, August 26 suggests Post Malone has what it takes to make a lasting name for himself in the industry.

He is a rap charlatan for the digital age, and his debut mixtape August 26th is like falling down an acoustic rap cover k-hole.
Post's debut mixtape is quite horrible, in the way that it is completely generic and rarely has any points that show true potential, and the songs that do aren't exactly his best work. It's not really worth listening to this, as short as it is, it's completely skippable.
Best songs: Money Made Me Do It, Hollywood Dreams Come Down, Oh God
Meh songs: Never Understand, Git Wit U, 40 Funk, Monte, Lonely
Worst songs: God Damn, Fuck
light 3/10
