It's an amazing album, that teeters too closely to noise for me to fully predicate.
"Please" has to be my favourite due to its melodolic characteristics.
73- Worth a listen.
I totally understand people enjoying this album, but for me there simply isnt enough of a progression for me to listen to this album continuously.
This album is a great blend of all the ideas of Sun Kil Moon's discography up to this point.
50- Average, its exactly what you expected to hear, no great new sound, or idea. Just a copy and paste of structure and sound. It will fit well in his discography but doesn't do anything else other than reinforce his sound.

I wanted to love this album, this man is unrivaled on the Saxophone, and just last year him and BBNG came out with my favourite piece from each of them respectively:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tylZcUjo1gQ
While his collaborative album with Sarah Neufeld always gives me goosebumps.
Perhaps because of this, I am waiting for an album that will never come. But man,
I can't help but feel he just isn't creating an effective album, perhaps he should find members to create an album with to ... read more
Disclaimer - I listened to this album first as a full stream then as an album.
It must be said that the full stream suits this album better than having the individual tracks. There's something about listening to a full stream and just accepting the music as a full body of work as oppose tp being able to skip a song if it doesn't interest you quick enough.
This isn't always the case, most recently Frank Ocean's Endless springs to mind, which is an album much better appreciated when you can ... read more
The one time, mainstream media had decided to not make a field day out of his overblown new album, is the one year he releases something worth listening to:
A return to form for Goldlink, but nothing too amazingly different.
It's worth a listen for fans, and you'll no doubt find a song you really enjoy, there is quality here but it is not the album we've been waiting for.
It's a step forward, albeit a small step.
70 - Worth a listen
This EP came out of nowhere, and not mentioning the accompanying MV's would be doing both the artist known as DPR Live and his Filmographer(Christian Yu) a disservice.
With Jay Park,Crush, Dean & G2 featuring to name a few, you already know before listening to this, that you're in for something good.
And DPR does not disappoint, this 5 track EP is splattered by unique textures, and considering its self-released its crazy to see an EP have these many stars and this ... read more
88 - Grower
"talking to sleep at night"
This album was devastatingly impenetrable at first. On a strange video-loop, with each song stitched together by reverb, weird vocals and oddly placed textures.
It's therefore recommended to head to youtube or soundcloud and listen to the individual tracks. Without all the extra bits in the way, the individual tracks begin to shine, with many of these tracks being some of the best we've heard from Frank Ocean ever;
Wither,
Higgs,

Nile, is one of my favorite songs ever. So I know I'm biased here but:
The album is a hidden gem with an entire album of growers, its the work of an introvert, quiet and intimate.
Caroline a very modern love-tragedy that hasn't really been sung about.
The rest of the album will hold purpose for others, as each song is its own.
Maybe the biggest hidden gem of the year so far!
Tribal, with flashes of electric blues & rock, as though the guitar was found out in the desert and mastered across this album.
The most entrancing component of this album must be the vocals, while for me personally, I have no clue what is being said there is still a beauty there, which is held in the voice.
A unique music experience, cathartic in the right circumstances. Granted there are a few songs here which really lack in comparison ... read more
It has been a long wait for Jacques Greene's debut album. While he is an artist who prefers the EP format, his first LP shows that he can deliver on this platform too.
A beautiful album, with great expansive ideas, there is room for improvement and while these songs are really really good.
You can't help but feel that there is so much more to expect from Jacques Greene.
Standout track: Dundas Collapse
Worth a listen,
While the instrumentation used here may be off-putting for those new to IDM, the manner in which the sound is explored and used is stunning.
It's definitely worth checking out, and each song while living within the same constraints as the last track, somehow becomes something completely different.
Disclaimer: Listened to this album via a Vinyl-rip.
By far Gorillaz most fluid album, but that in its self proves to be a problem, Gorillaz being known for destroying numerous genre's in the space of a few minutes. This album has a clear sound, a Dystopian disco, as if the entire album, revolves around one wild house party.
Sonically therefore, this is Gorillaz weakest offering.
Again this album is not immediately gratifying either, as is the norm with Gorillaz albums, but this proves a huge ... read more
This album suffers from having too many ideas, too poorly executed.
Unsurprisingly this is Drake's best selling album so far, no doubt a sign of the times, where artist who focus on singles and not the quality of the collective album.
Luckily there are still some memorable moments on this album, and a few deep cuts that remind us, why we love drake.
Also, Summers Over Interlude may easily be the best interlude of 2016 and that is worth mentioning.
Here's what the album could have looked ... read more
Mixtape drake strikes again, while this hangs shallowly low on the ceiling of hip hop releases it is still a good representation of Drake's sound, and a great adaption to his world,
This wont move him any closer to the conversation of being one of the best hip-hop artists of his time but it does maintain, that he still knows how to make a good album, because that's what this is, a good album disguised as a playlist.
Surprisingly good for an album held back by an artist in recovery.
It has always been known to any artist regardless of the type of art, suffering is needed to make art, and here there is no suffering, this is the type of music to expect from Eminem from here on out, and while it will never be as chaotically beautiful as his previous albums,
Perhaps there are some beautiful moments still to be found.
