First Pink Floyd album is a project full of experimental elements and psychedelic aesthetics, typical of these times. Original compositions with well worked instrumentals and lyrics, it's a great album debut from an emerging band in the 60's but not as unique as their other future projects (which seems normal to me because they were still starting).
Personally, there are tracks that I don't like very much and others that are mythic psychedelic rock songs to me.
A very raw and hard project from the emerging and great band Nirvana. They start their career in the most powerful and anxious way, offering great tracks with unique and personal performances, by all of them.
The first album of the band doesn't disappoints, quite the opposite, it's a enjoyable and crazy work by one of the greatest grunge bands.
Biggie creates a complete and varied album with an autobiographical objective formed from master rhymes and lyrics accompanied by very fresh and mythical beats. Some tracks would go down in history, most would serve as a reference and basis for later legends that take them as a reference and some others are simply songs to enjoy listening to. A rigid and diverse, beautiful but endearing, intimate but great hip-hop project.
Great tracks and spectacular performances on each, especially Jaco Pastorious showing skills and claiming bass's variety of techniques and everything that can be done with it. The structure is not very consistent in this project, but it is clear that Jaco did not intend it to be that way either, it is just a set of songs and covers made by Jaco and his team, leaving us truly bangers, gorgeous tracks and frantic others.
An album from the heart, with heartbreaking moments, others very powerful and dark and others simply good. Very well structured, sometimes reminding us of a dark play. The beats sometimes seem uninteresting, but other times we see the Kanye touch. Kanye's tenth studio album is not as legendary as MBDTF, nor as innovative as 808's nor as unique as College Dropout, but it's honest, personal and different compared to his previous projects.
While others like Miles Davis, Hubbard or Herbie Hancock were looking for new sounds and taking jazz to extremes where it had never been seen, Ahmad and his trio opted for a smooth post-bop and not get more complicated. Some tracks have are very particular as for the composition and some ideas, the production and performances are very clean, too.
Yes, it isn't a revolutionary or very complex record, but it demonstrates the skills of its musicians, offers us peace for a while and makes us ... read more
The best one of the five collections of electro-jazz chill covers of standards, classical pieces and pop songs by the mysterious Shigeo Sekito. A demonstration of how ahead of its time Sekito was as for the synths and sounds he could get and how much harmonic/musical knowledge and variety he had. Some covers are great and others are very forgettable, but it's a very special, strange and unique record from 70's japanese jazz.
A very good funk album, at some points original and well composed, and at other points somewhat common and formulaic. The influence of greats of the genre like Hancock can be seen in the grooves, riffs, melodies and structures of some tracks, but there is still a certain characteristic air in the songs on this album.
It's fun, very lively thanks to the performances of these really good musicians and adjusted to their times. Totally underrated.
I really feel this album has completely the same structure, intention and vibe than Head Hunters because of his 4 tracks with perfect complementation between the personnel, great compositions and jams around them, spectacular performances... But the production on this project is better in my opinion. Anyway, this is still Herbie and company at their productive peak, another great fusion album!
A legendary and unforgettable album of funk and jazz fusion. In this wonderful project, we can listen to the epic group Head Hunters, led by Herbie, having a good time and jamming having fun with 4 great songs, with unforgettable grooves and melodies. Simply, a classic of acid jazz that has left us with the best tracks of the genre and incredible solos.
As fresh and complete as Return to Forever, this project offers us great and memorable tracks, beautiful sounds and epic melodies, harmonies and solos. It is also worth remembering that in this album we can hear the banger Spain.
Although, on this album, I feel that the vocals are sometimes not necessary and that the previous one as an album worked better in aspects of overall composition and sound.
Still a great album by the great Chick!
Just like the album cover represents: freedom, freshness and brilliance. Chick Corea here mixes jazz with latin or flamenco sounds and instrumentation, creating a windy, sunny and oceanic vibe with this 4 tracks, each one with its intention and its role. Soundscapes built in this record are beautiful, this just unlocks memories and views while you listen to it (even if they are slow or fun parts).
Great jazz fusion record!
In this project we can see the most expressive, creative, hard and melancholic side of Tyler. Starting with the moving intro, going through some slower and sentimental songs and other groundbreaking and furious ones until ending with that final track, throwing everything into the air and connecting with the intro.
The lyrics are great, the compositions using structures outside of rap and embarking on more pop ones, with sometimes jazzy licks and harmonies... and something also very important is ... read more
This project is the most frenetic and hard example of the 70's jazz-rock fusion, in its most fun and innovative way. The guitar riffs in the style of the progressive and hard rock from the times feel great mixed with jazz's minds and ideas from the musicians. However, there are also more orchestral and contrasting parts with respect to the album in general, which gives it a lot of dynamism.
It's joyful to see how everyone in this album show his most iniquitous, personal and brilliant side, ... read more
-Björk's discography #6:
Björk introduces herself to synthesizers and extraterrestrial sounds with Volta, embarking on a wide variety of layers and colors with them. The futuristic drum machines that have always characterized her accompany her lyrics in an ironic but beautiful way, since they talk to us about the concern of humanity and where we are going to end up.
This album is not so ambitious, it does not have as many great songs nor is the production as original as other ... read more
Jazz fusion opened many doors to the creativity of talented musicians, and this is a great example of it. Between the synths, pianos, the lines and melodies of Jaco's bass, the great interpretation of Shorter and the rest of the musicians... Every fill, every phrase they play feels great, even in the melodies, chord-changes and grooves you can visualize them smiling. And wouldn't it be because of the brilliant and futuristic production and sound that this album was so special.

Unique atmosphere and effects, marking one of the most groundbreaking projects of the genre with its sounds, compositions and explosive grooves. Honestly, it feels very fun and interesting at the same time to listen to this album.
A somewhat complicated album to listen to and understand, but when you understand its point you see the richness of sound, in the effects, the unusual instrumentation and how visionary something so ambitious and abstract. It's amazing how these musicians, especially the mind behind the Miles Davis project, created such complex, well-composed and innovative structures for this album!
Tyler's first big, ambitious and well-composed album with no doubt! The concept and story within the album, the warm and bright instrumentals created with synths, all the bangers and lovely songs, the collabs, the variety of dynamics and styles within the project... The structure, the musicals, the lyrics and the acting are the best Tyler has put out to date.
Danny already doing his stuff. Exploring more sounds, punchier and more stable drums, more interesting samples, more variety within the tracklist (both dynamically, lyrically or musically)... And, above all, we are already beginning to see sketches of what will be his characteristic voice in some songs.
Danny already marked the hip-hop of the time, not as harshly as Death Grips or as cleverly lyrically as Kendrick, but in his own way. This project is something else compared to his previous.
