The first five tracks are great. They are nothing mindblowing, but they're fun, catchy, and danceable indie tunes. Halfway through the record (around Northern Town), I started getting bored. The energy and valence wane, and it starts to feel like I've already heard these tracks somewhere before.
"Got a dick and two balls, that's more than you all" would be a bold opening lyric for most artists, but for an artist like Iggy Pop, it's an all too predictable approach. Who doesn't love a shirtless, leathery-skinned 75-year-old man singing about his junk? 🙄

Update: The more I listen, the more I can appreciate the experimentation, and the more certain songs grow on me. “God Approved Insurance Plan,” “Goodnight Tomb,” and “Blood in the Milk,” specifically. The entire album still feels like a stilted menagerie of ideas, but as these songs creep deeper into my subconscious, I catch myself considering revising my rating.
