Killer beats, and Del has a really good flow
Some of the skits are annoying
Fav tracks: 3030, Positive Contact, Mastermind
ARE WE NOT MEN? WE ARE DEVO! DEE EE VEE OH!
This album was a lot of fun but there were a few lowlights/skips
Uncontrollable Urge is classic, I didn't realize it was by DEVO
Space Junk is such a weird song. I hated how abrasive the vocals were initially but then you get a sweet guitar solo.
Mongoloid was a banger.
Jocko Homo is repetitive and goofy fun.
Too Much Paranoias sounds like the title
Gut Feeling was so much fun
Come Back Jonee has killer guitar
Fav tracks: Uncontrollable Urge, ... read more
Spoken word vocals over soft rock instrumentals works pretty well. Very refreshing.
Fav tracks: Breadcrumb trail, Washer
The songs have a great sound and feel, but most of them sound very similar and they all start with the same drum fill. The extended track Exodus has some sweet instrumentals. Jamming is a classic. Three Little Birds was a song I had heard before too, but never in full.
Fav tracks: Exodus, Jamming, Three Little Birds
Only Shallow is a nice dreamy intro track
Loomer has heavier guitars
Touched was a normal interlude
To Here Knows When has such weird, entrancing guitars. It's impossible to discern the vocals
When You Sleep was similar to the other tracks
I Only Said is more of the same
Come In Alone has emphasized drums
Sometimes was nothing of note
Blown A Wish more of the same
What You Want has some harmonized vocals which is nice
Soon has a really nice beat
This feels like Crystal Castles, but 20 ... read more
Intro introduces us to the emcees in gameshow format
The Magic Number has a sick drum beat, sounds like mid 90s and not 89. Real banger
Change In Speak was decent
Cool Breeze On the Rocks is a short game show skit
Can U Keep a Secret has a sweet instrumental, I wish it were longer
Jenifa Taught Me (Derwin's Revenge) decent too
Ghetto Thang has a nice bass line
Transmitting Live from Mars is a French-language interlude
Eye Know has a really sweet 90s sounding beat and great flows
Take It ... read more
The solos on the back half of the album are so good
Fav tracks: Someday, Alone, Together, Last Nite, New York City Cops, Trying Your Luck
Chameleon has a funky synth line, smooth drumming, and is a beautiful jam session
Watermelon Man focuses more on the sax and throws in flutes.
Sly goes absolutely crazy
Vein Melter is more subdued
This album is an extended jam session. Lots of fun
Fav tracks: Chameleon
...And the Gods Made Love sounds like a 2000s spaceship
Have You Ever Been (To Electric Ladyland) was a smooth track
Crosstown Traffic has a nice riff and fun vocals
Voodoo Chile is an extended blues track with crazy guitar, drums, synths, and crooning vocals
Little Miss Strange sounds quite different, without Hendrix in the vocals. Like a Beatles song
Long Hot Summer Night doesn't have the best singing but the guitar is still good
Come On (Let the Good Times Roll) was an extended guitar ... read more
Eye of Mars starts us off right where we expect; heavy guitars, aggressive vocals, relentless bass drums
Gomorrah Nouveaux has some fun distorted guitars
Lexington Delirium begins nice and slow for a change, finishing off with fast guitars
Hotel Sphinx sounds like some demonic summoning ritual
NEWYORKCITY and Goldstar both sounded really out of place
Rot Moderne's guitars are a bit abrasive for me but the drums are sick
Pleasuredome started out as usual but halfways through turned into ... read more
The Queen Is Dead starts us off with some smooth bass grooves and enthusiastic drums.
Frankly, Mr. Shankly sounds like the opening to a children's show.
I Know It's Over is a soft ballad that goes on a bit too long but ends strong
Never Had No One Ever reminds me a lot of The Cure, very ethereal
Cemetry Gates is like 10 years early with its 90s sound
Bigmouth Strikes Again has a super catchy guitar riff
The Boy With the Thorn In His Side is a pleasant easy-going track
Vicar In a Tutu ... read more
Dance Yrself Clean had good ideas but was way too long
Drunk Girls had an annoying chorus
One Touch had fun drums but again the vocals were awful
All I Want was long and boring
I Can Change was actually chill and fun
You Wanted a Hit had a very appropriate name but it was a surprisingly good song
Pow Pow had nice elements in its instrumentals but again the vocals and the way things can't together was unsatisfying
Somebody's Calling Me just sounded awful
Home was bland

This album is really a fever dream, with many different styles throughout. Too experimental for me.
I had only known Running Up That Hill from Stranger things. Waking the Witch was a really big surprise and a bit jarring. Jig of Life came out of nowhere with the Celtic dancing. Hello Earth started off similar to the first track, but then turned into Gregorian chanting.
Fav tracks: Running Up That Hill (A Deal with God), The Big Sky, Cloudbusting, Waking the Witch
The singles really carry this album
Fav tracks: Bad Romance, Alejandro, Telephone
Classic, timeless blues music.
Fav tracks: Do I Move You?, My Man's Gone Now, Backlash Blues, The House of the Rising Sun
YEAHHHHH BOIIIIIIIIII
This album is exactly what I think 80s rap sounds like. It was interesting seeing that k-os had sampled some of this album in his music.
Fav tracks: Don't Believe the Hype, Louder Than A Bomb
Jimmy Page kills it with his solos throughout disc 1. The keyboard + guitar riffs in Trampled Under Foot are a highlight for sure. Kashmir kind of drags on.
Disc 2 was definitely not as strong as disc 1. I had thought Bron-Yr-Aur was Bron-Yr-Aur Stomp so I was expecting something different from what came on. It was a nice acoustic song though. This disc feels a lot more country/folky than I expected.
Fav tracks: The Rover, In My Time of Dying, Trampled Under Foot, The Wanton Song
The solo on Paranoid Android goes hard. The Stephen Hawking spoken word track was rough. Most of the tracks were what I expected from Radiohead after playing Creep on Rock Band
Fav tracks: Paranoid Android, Let Down, Electioneering, Climbing Up the Walls, No Surprises
The classics on this album hit me really hard. I was putting off listening to this for a while but I'm glad I did.
Polly was the only real lowlight. Territorial Pissings sounded like a completely different vocalist. The extra track on the Remastered release (Endless, Nameless) was terrible.
Fav tracks: Smells Like Teen Spirit, In Bloom, Lithium, Something In The Way
[Update]
After reading more into the extra track and realizing that it was an intended hidden track, I lowered the score ... read more
