Attila - About That Life

Churldish.

If I want to listen to mediocre rap metal I will listen to Limp Bizkit.

Blood On The Dance Floor - Let's Start a Riot

Absolutely terrible, Spotify actually gained a W by pulling this slop from their platform. Thankfully I never platformed this as a teen, but shame on my generation for giving this a place in the world.

Skillet - Collide

Man..... this was my first concert, and coming full circle to not find myself enjoying this anymore stung. It just is what it is I guess.

Kendrick Lamar - meet the grahams

Kendrick channeled the soul of Tupac himself and made Hit Em Up look like a slap on the chin. Drake's ego is not going to sit well with this one.

Disclaimer: Idk a damn word that is being said on this project, it's vibes only.

First song on here is pretty damn infectious. The relaxed delivery over the trap instrumental actually works pretty damn well. The second track is a bit of a hefty step down for me in terms of enjoyment, with the songs pacing feeling really slow almost inebriating. Finally, the last track here is a step back into better territory for me giving a mix of dance ballroom for me. The almost slurred delivery I think ... read more

Y'all beat me to it. Insert comment about "not Future Nostalgia" and "still good" here.

Now for a real take, this project had 10x the life in it that eternal sunshine did.

CNR - Ominous

Last review from today's stream!

This one comes from viewer CNR who told me this is some of their ambient work and is very much Quadeca inspired. With that being said, the inspiration is certainly on one's sleeves in this songs case but I don't find that too be all a bad thing. This track felt super cold, distant, and almost warped to a certain degree but not to the point where I would call it pure emulation. Don't get me wrong, I got more that I desire but I like this as a starting point!

Sound Machine - Zenta
68

The one single this person submitted to me that varied a lot from all the other sounds they had sent my way. This single is a bit more stripped back still playing with the same synths and keys but providing a more natural soundscape. If the other EP and single has me feeling like I was in a city, this one leaves me in the woods.

Sound Machine - Stormy Skies
77

Similar to the EP I just mentioned previously from this artist, this single continue the very cyberese and sci-fi experience while feeling just a slight bit grimier and darker. If I had to come up with a complaint for this song it would just be that it slightly overstays its welcome.

Sound Machine - G O I N G U P

Viewer submission from today's stream and I cannot express how happy I am that the viewer let me listen to this. They seemed a bit bashful about their music at first but after listening this is truly a great ambient experience. It incorporates nice spacey and sci-fi sounds within itself and really had me feeling a lot more emotionally than I thought I could from an ambient project. This is especially the case for the third track featuring these suppressed vocal cuts of a female sigh. This ... read more

Boards of Canada - Music Has the Right to Children

This was quite the suggestion from a viewer on today's stream, CNR.

I saw the length of this project and didn't exactly know what I was getting myself into and my brain immediately went to ambient initially. While those sounds are certainly present, It had enough going on during these lengthy 7+ minute tracks that I never really felt disconnected until maybe the last few songs, due to listening to 3 hours of music prior to this. As I was listening I also started to get compelled with the ... read more

QUEEF JERKY - absolute madness

OMMM NOMMM NOMMM. My words, I am eating them.

Coming of a 9 on the last record I listened to by Queef Jerky I wasn't expecting to really enjoy another record from them, let alone have it be one of my favorite records from the day...... I suppose crazier things have happened though! This things is balls to the walls crazy but really fun at the same time. The production certainly helps mask any lines that are just a bit too.... queefy.

Ultimately, a lot better than the EP I had started with and certainly more developed. Still a lot of room to go though to fully flesh this experience out. Will be keeping my eye out to revisit this person with a full release in the future.

Very short little sparse and barren EP. Got suggested this from a viewer on today's stream. Nothing mind blowing, but if this is your starting point you are already ahead of many.

"100% agree that this album needs its time to really grow on you! I actually enjoy Dryland and The Fish Song quite a bit, but can certainly understand some of the apprehension to fully getting lost within those tracks. I think I may need to spin back on the album yet again and re-evaluate my scores since I didn't give Where Did You Go a 100 and it is one of the most memorable tracks off the album for me. Great review!"
