I'd Rather Die holds the album up almost being so bad it's good, but just barely missing the party.
I sharted.
Damn 11... y'all really hate this project. I don't know it isn't all too terrible. Really bad performances on songs like Surfin, Summer of Love, and Island Fever though. The second half of this project is a little bit of a step up.
I like the idea of Socialized Medicine, idk.
This has the same negative consequences of Cocomelon taking golf ball sized scoops out of a developing mind. Never again.
Vocals are a mess, mixing is a mess, other members fighting for their life to cover up the singing. I don't know man, this really doesn't even sound like Fall Out Boy. Give me their new stuff over this.
You start off thinking this is a good idea, then you get to You're Beautiful and find yourself remembering how lowkey creepy that song comes off. Then you get more of that same creepy songwriting on the tracks to follow. There are moments on songs like Cry and No Bravery where things sharpen up a bit and but by that point the record is pretty much over.
I am noticing something here.... Every mainstream album released in the 2000's had 10 tracks and runs about 40 minutes. No variation. ... read more
If the meme "When do they stop tuning their instruments, and start playing the music?" was personified into an album.
It started really strong but immediately got filled with a hyper theatrical performance that really just felt more overdramatic than anything else. I was certainly expecting for this one to fair better, but tracks like Requiem and Heretics are almost a non-starter for me. Acid Rain may have been one of the more stand out tracks outside of the first two, but by the end of my listen I felt so burned out to get more than indifference from it. There is certainly worst metal, if not from Avenged ... read more
Idk, I am not the biggest fan of Bloc Party or anything but I don't think I found this as bad as the average person. The first half of this record certainly sounds unlike any other Bloc Party songs I had heard in the past, but the tracks Fortress, Into the Earth, and My True Name were a certain degree of enjoyable for me. The weirdest point on this record for me had to be the song The Good News which honestly just sounded like another Cage the Elephant song for me. Potentially over hated, but ... read more
I love being born in the 90's. Because, we would just gobble this shit up and question absolutely nothing.
Lyrically pretentious, vocally uncomfortable (especially Victims of Love), instrumentally okay.
What exactly is "good" about Good Charlotte?
Well... I fucking lied. I am going to continue my hater arc today.
When served up the 2018 Disturbed release by my buddy Alvin I had an idea for what to expect, outdated dad rock that may cross lines of insensitivity. Surprisingly that is not what I felt I got here, but the end enjoyment is still very much as expected. This project to me sounds conflicted with what it wants to deliver. You get a mixed bag of soft acoustic cuts and what feels like toned down disturbed instrumentals without the ... read more
Could be worst surely but what the actual hell is this album cover.
The most surprising thing about this album is not Maroon 5 itself but how they are able to bring the worst out of those around them.
I think I am done listening to this worst for now.... hater streak over.
Cheetah Girl 2 prepared me for this moment in life!
I actually really enjoyed this and have sat for this fully before the English version. This really doesn't deserve to be on the worst albums of 2001. I was promised bad and I am upset that I was delivered good instead!
Best Elements: Vocal Delivery, Instrumentals in places, Mi Reflejo
Worst Elements: Instrumentals in places, Ven Conmigo
Wouldn't imagine Pitbull being one of the better things I have listened to today but this record has it moments. Moments of good and terrible. Of course, tracks like Give Me Everything still were a bit charming but I was surprised with the enjoyment I got out of deeper cuts Took My Love and Where Do We Go. Now we can't recognize the good without also pointing out the bad. Come N Go was pretty bad but was Shake Senora freaking awful to sit through. Please never again.
You are now tuning in to 98.7 Anything But Rock! Where you can hear all your favorite rock classics from the last decade.... oh you wanted Kryptonite? Sorry wrong album.
K-12 is many times more approachable than Crybaby but still has a lot of the early childhood aesthetic. I understand this is the appeal for many, but it is only a turn off for me.
Edit 11/23/2024 98 -> 100: It was a 100 the whole time I was just geeked.
This is not right! Why do I keep watching though!
A minor..... Colonizer.... The fucking album art.
