If I had to genre this project I would go with ambient bed room pop. This EP from 2008 is very simplistic while still displaying sounds that I find very unique and influential into this style of music. The intro and many other tracks on this EP feature hand bells that help add an element of stillness to the project best utilized on the closing track the end of time. There are also a lot of features of environmental sounds like something sounding very similar to sheet metal on the song bad ... read more

DigBar - 3 BIG BALLS

My right ear loves this song.... At least there is a revamp/higher quality version on Youtube!

I unironically like this as well. If there wasn't the confidence behind the lyrics this would be terrible but it's beautiful.

Boy do I sure love some lemon pepper chicken...

No copyright you say? Yeah, I'm gonna be using this at some point.

Short and sweet dance house EP with a high energy to it. The vocals on this record are very clean and there enough switching up happening on each track to stop it from getting stale. Couple this with the bouncy nature to the tracks on this EP and there should be something for you to bounce along with. There were a few nice little additions to a few tracks like the distorted reverb on some of the vocals on Baby Sweet, as well as ... read more

Idk maybe my brain is fucked up but I fuck with the vision. It's so damn over the top and nasty that it just comes off as funny to me which I know was not the intention of this song. I don't really wanna hear two dudes rapping about getting throated but I'm always here to hear what the City Girls have to say and they had a lot to say.

Halfway through this song I was genuinely questioning if this song is about eating disorders. That is because it is and it is done fucking terribly! Jaiden's delivery is soulless at most hovering in an in between of speaking loudly and rapping. The electronic vocal chopping chorus comes off very distasteful as well. Lastly, Boyinaband. Fuck you. Just fuck you. Nothing else.

Mitch Jones - Broken

It's Mitch Jones doing pop punk.

I am really glad for what music was able to do for Mitch Jones. That being said, that doesn't help ME enjoy this EP. I generally have a bias against pop punk music as in general as a genre it is really hard for me to find something I like. That aside, I went into this with an open mind and I will say it was better than I was expecting it could be to me.

Instrumentally, this EP is pretty damn clean with everything sounding mixed well and somewhat ... read more

This song is.... sound....

I genuinely cannot think of words to describe this song. It has vocals, synths, a guitar I think? All of these were then thrown into a blender without the top on and put on high. Sounds flying everywhere. I really do love this style of breakcore/hyperpop/whatever you want to call it with it's hyper chaotic nature and high energy from start to finish. Just stuff I would find hard recommending as it likely it headache fuel for many.

I forgot I had a playlist called ... read more

Beep Boop! It's Mr. Super Computer!

Songs starts off super spacey but very quickly escalates into pure robotic chip-tuned chaos and I am here for it. I actually really like the vocal effect and lyrics on the chorus for this style of song. The smooth way the beat collides into "there's not a sob story in the world that can fix the trust" is bonkers.

tracey brakes - how to proceed after sudden epiphanies

It's dull but also sharp.... Almost like a dull scythe?

Jokes aside, I love how the beginning of this song is kind of just falling apart and figuring itself out. Then you get these super sick watery robotic sounds wooshing from ear to ear, great touch! I also appreciate the almost vocaloid sounding vocals towards the backend before the absolute drop-off into a black hole. I was getting nervous going towards the end of the track that it wasn't going to escalate to anything but was pleasantly ... read more

tracey brakes - Perfect To The Core

This ain't doing it for me chief.

Right out the gate you are introduced to the sounds of a meat slicer taking sheets off of your brain. The industry breakdown to follow wasn't entirely unenjoyable but then Alvin and his group of demonic chipmunks come in to drag you down to hell. To be clear, there are elements of this song I enjoy but it is way too busy for me to really want to listen to it more than 1 time.

SO AMAAYYYZING I AM PURRRFECT TO THE COREEE.

Boldy James & Nicholas Craven - Penalty of Leadership

What a way to start out the year!

This project isn't the craziest thing I have ever heard but it was defiantly a breath of fresh air in what has been a rather stagnant hip hop genre in the last months. First things first, the production is absolutely fantastic. I spent a lot of time during my first listen looking into what was sampled and how it was flipped because the use of these samples fits so damn well into the songs. My favorite would either be the sampling of Miquel Brown's "Do ... read more

Blueface - Free Blueface

Yeah this thing isn't good but I honestly had more fun with it than I thought I would. In terms of the incredibly boring and lazy hip hop projects I have heard recently this may just be the best one with it being Bluface>NLE Choppa>DaBaby. I didn't think I would ever string together that statement but here I am.

Geese - 3D Country

Edit 01/23/2025 78 -> 84: This bump was bound to happen eventually and just so happened to be done today because my vinyl for this record finally arrived. Mainly just found a deeper appreciation for some deeper cuts mainly I See Myself and Mysterious Love this time around. I still have a slight gripe with how the record ends on St. Elmo. but the massive starting run this record has more than makes up for it.

This album has enough gas in the tank to fuel 20 Ford Broncos.

Bruiser Wolf - My Story Got Stories

At first this felt very unique and interesting but the magic wore off quite quickly. The off kilter flow seems cool at first but I found it mostly distracting me from some very corny bars on this project. Bruiser loves his fair share of poop references as well. The production on the beats on this project is mostly what kept me from all out disliking the project highlighted on the track Skywalkin' which I think has the best beat on this whole project. Definitely something unique but not ... read more

The Backpack Kid - Flossin

This song is immaculate. To begin with, the beat is so infectious. The way the melody of the keys digs into your brain is so good and I cannot imagine how the beat was created. Then the chorus comes in and I am absolutely blown away. I mean the Backpack Kid does in fact be flossin. I have seen it first hand and can confirm he is flossin. By the time you get to the verse you are barely left standing. Backpack Kid not only spits facts with line like "Everywhere you go you will see the ... read more

"100% agree that this album needs its time to really grow on you! I actually enjoy Dryland and The Fish Song quite a bit, but can certainly understand some of the apprehension to fully getting lost within those tracks. I think I may need to spin back on the album yet again and re-evaluate my scores since I didn't give Where Did You Go a 100 and it is one of the most memorable tracks off the album for me. Great review!"
