Ichika Nito - Window

Window is so damn funky for a lofi acoustic track dear lord! Little bit of a rough transition from Home -> i'm sorry but the hint of jazz on i'm sorry is well worth it. Still a very calming and pleasant experience!

Ichika Nito - N I T O

A very technically proficient artist not getting overly technical, instead applying their flair at the rights moments. This project is very relaxing and an excellent listen for before bed. Like being stranded in a frozen wasteland this EP puts a dim to your flame right at the ending.

Holy hell this album just gets better and better the more it goes on. Definitely a spoiled little brat myself. I could even see this album growing more on me as time goes on similar to Wallsocket, I'll have to revisit with time.

Edit 01/11/2024: 82 -> 87 After constant daily listening this thing had to see a revisit and it well deserved the bump.

CMAT - Crazymad, For Me

Well that was fun! Don't know about Alt-Country but I liked it. Likely to revisit this one at a later point to see if it warms up on me more or at least gives me more to say. If anything stood out in particular it would be some of the vocal melodies especially highlighted on Rent and Can't Make Up My Mind.

파란노을 [Parannoul] - After the Magic

Damn I have really been liking stuff a lot lately... That is not a bad thing.

This is the Shoegaze album I have been looking for, I have started to slowly enjoy Shoegaze more as a genre here and there but I wanted something that would make me love it. This is the first project that really got me immersed in the sound and there are plenty of additional influences to add some more flair.

Shoutout to Late Night Vibes on Youtube for putting this one on my map again. Glad I took the time to sit ... read more

Cowgirl Clue - Rodeo Star

Take a Golden Switchblade and drain your life?

This is dance pop that if it was playing loudly out of a semi truck you wouldn't question it. I was looking forward to this project after hearing Trailblaze and am happy to find there are a handful of tracks that I enjoyed quite heavily. While the entire album didn't entirely click with me there are enough standout tracks to make me come back to this.

It's a bit angsty for my liking but there are elements here that I would go on to love on hypochondriac. Disregard the pretention and it's a vibe.

SOPHIE - OIL OF EVERY PEARL'S UN-INSIDES
98

Another formative record in the books.

I held off on sitting down with this for a while because I wanted to be ready to sit and take in all that it had to offer and I am glad it did. Similar to 1000 Gecs this record is entirety unique and a striking reminder to not only be yourself but accept yourself.

Justin Bieber - Changes

Intentions is kind of a bop still.... and I don't even hate yummy that much. But god does this album still suck so much ass.

100 gecs - 1000 gecs

Yeah okay I get it but like hear me out.... I Need Help Immediately is actually fire.

It took a mild mid-life crisis and some self discovery for this to finally click and I get it. I am the Frog on the Floor. It's me.

Really though, as I got through life and learn more what it truly means to be yourself I find myself at the crossroads so many times of trying to still please others. Not everyone is going to get you all the time and that's okay.

This album tries to do nothing other than be itself and it accomplishes that commendably.

Kurtis Blow - Kurtis Blow

One of the firsts, it would be disingenuous to say that this is my favorite thing I have heard but I am glad I chose to sit down and listen anyways. Holding it to the standard of today would not be fair and just kicking back and giving a chance leaves it still being a very fun album with charisma and great instrumentals to pair.

Casiopea - Casiopea

Out here enjoying music today! Shoutout to the homie Ethan with the killer suggestions. This album has the best elements of Jazz with flavors of funk, city pop, and so many more styles. Very easy listening. Kick back and enjoy.

Ne Obliviscaris - Portal of I
86

Beautiful piece that remains complex and simple at the same time? If you can make it through the first song there is a strong chance you will enjoy this and be rewarded with a heavenly ending on the last track. The only thing keeping me from being entirely sold on this is a slight dislike for some of the clean vocals on this album.

The Home Team - Loud
35

There was a 66% chance I liked this song and I didn't.

Instrumental is cool at times but the lyrical content is pretty damn generic. Could you imagine actually saying any of this to a woman in life? No I didn't think so.

The Caretaker - Everywhere at the end of time

This is an entire experience that you should treat appropriately before listening. Musically it is going to be extremely abrasive once you get past the first hour with Stage 4 being the most spine-chilling for me to sit through. With that being said, it does an amazing job at capturing what is a truly terrifying disorder in the form of dementia. This is a concept that takes a unique individual to achieve with such striking accuracy and that is worth commending. I could not listen to this ... read more

Yung Lean & BLP Kosher - Violent Lullaby

I didn't rate this? This song is the collab I never knew I needed. Nursery Rhymes but drained. Why so short though?

NO!.... Why the fuck did I actually click this and take the time to find it on soundcloud? What did I really expect? This thing screams get me to the front page vibes trying to imitate truly terrible music by onision, but like c'mon man. You are gonna have to get even shittier to live up to that standard. Yeah I sat through this and no it wasn't good. The Ballad of Joe Biden and Spoker Word Part Two Deluxe Edition were pretty lolzy though.

Cortana can you please look up "Just logged off with 8 diamonds, haters keep sucking I’m about to cum" with safe search off.

Gonna actually expound a little bit on this one. I have previously listened to two AmyReal projects and really liked the experimentation I was hearing but nothing had quite blown me away yet. So of course when I see this project drop I am excited to give it a listen, and there is even an AOTY dumpster fire to go along with it! :D Really though, all jokes ... read more

"100% agree that this album needs its time to really grow on you! I actually enjoy Dryland and The Fish Song quite a bit, but can certainly understand some of the apprehension to fully getting lost within those tracks. I think I may need to spin back on the album yet again and re-evaluate my scores since I didn't give Where Did You Go a 100 and it is one of the most memorable tracks off the album for me. Great review!"
