Honestly reminds me of an old car commercial in an odd way. I like it though! Very uplifting and fun, when the trombone comes in the song gets real fun.
I do genuinely like a lot of Charli's part on this song and the instrumental is actually really crazy especially as it gets into the second half of the track and towards the closing point. Even Sam Smith is fine here not really bugging me. I just feel slightly conflicted because I would love to see what Charli can do in the EDM sphere but the selfish person in me doesn't want this being a single leading into an album of hers. End of the day, I don't hate this song. Don't love it either.
Easyfun production *gasp* this could mean something. Hated the interpolation at first but just gave into and this song bangs.
Focus: Make it pop coca cola is so corny its fire. The chorus is so god damn infectious. 91/100
No Angel: Production on this lovely, lyrics don't do it for me but still fun. 69/100
I am biased as shit but Charli is snapping on this track. Gives me similar vibes to 7 Rings by Arianna but like before it.
Edit 06/22/24 53 -> 60: Upon further review, I was way too hard on this record. Don't get me wrong the tracks I am not super fond of here still remain, but I definitely did some of these tracks dirty. Overall, anything I strongly disliked has moved closer to indifference and the songs I liked I just like more.
As a fan of Charli's work it was only a matter of time for me to go back and listen to her first two records. I will say I was not expecting to be as dis-favorable towards ... read more
Very unique concept album from Cyrus Nyx. I can't say I am fully captured by the concept and skits throughout but I cannot deny it is something standout from the rest. What really grabs me is the production and groove in some of these songs. The highlights for me would be Sundays Song, How to Love, Optic Conversations, and Infatuation. There are times where some of the lyrical content can get a tad corny for my liking and I would normally say this album feels a tad bloated but I do feel each ... read more
So I was taking a walk the other day, and looking back I really forgot how good this album is. Per usual with Kendrick's work there really isn't anything here that is bad or even mediocre. There are slight gripes I have with a few songs but most are just enjoyable the whole way through. So I was taking a walk the other day.
I feel like I need more time for this to grow on me. I have had many people recommend this listen to me and after two sit downs with the record I am certainly enjoying what I am hearing but now blown away by it. I find myself coming back to the first half of the record more than anything, especially songs like Be Sweet and Slide Tackle, but more so not having much from the second half stick. Still a very solid record nonetheless deserving of the high praise.
I saw this on the worst albums of this year and was shocked, but after listening I can understand it to a degree. There is a lot of mediocre filler on this project but outside of We Ride and Crazy Little Thing Called Love there are not really any songs I find myself not enjoying a little bit. I especially like some of the reggae influenced cuts as well as the chart toppers SOS, Unfaithful, and Break It Off. Not wowed or disappointed by this project just mostly understanding of it's placing ... read more
With B sides that put most other albums from that year to shame this project stands the test of time.
Edit 07/07/2024 83 -> 86: No shame here, this EP has always been one of my favorites in Carly's discography, but upon revisiting I find a good majority of the tracks here only increasing in enjoyment. My original statement certainly still stands with the synth flavored dance pop sounds on this record really feeling like a bit of a flash into the future of what other artists were going ... read more
Midwest emo if it were raised in an Amish community then went off to theatre school before getting a job in finance and contemplating jumping out the window everyday. After retiring, it finds itself on a small ranch on a prairie watching time roll by before ending up in a nursing home hearing the sound of death call its name. This album reminds me there is peace is utter madness.
Edit 12/1/2023: 80 -> 84 Score Bump go BRRRR
Back when this came out of I probably would have heavily over-rated this thing. Full of radio bangers and more personal cuts this project serves as a great debut for Lil Nas X the only real question is what will come next? If there is any real thing taking away from this project it would be the occasional lazy vocal performances or the off-putting beat selection. Overall, still a really great project I recommend people to give a chance. P.s. Scoop has aged terribly but is still great in so many ... read more
The single player variant of Scaring the Hoes... before Scaring the Hoes.
Guess I gotta thank tiktok for introducing me to this one. Not a huge fan of the Tek It (Sped Up) version that was used to no end but it got me to come back and check the artists out nonetheless. The original version of that specific track is also one of the best tracks on this album. I also loved the track Empty Tricks and some of the breakcore influences on that song. Overall, very mellow listen that doesn't do anything really offensive just keeps a consistent vibe going a little up and down ... read more
It's got the songs from Scooby Doo and the Witch's Ghost. I don't need to say more.

The production on this EP is very creative and unique and quite enjoyable for the most part but the lyrical content feels a bit over the top to me more fitting for a Kingdom Hearts music video.
