A deluxe that does everything a deluxe should do. I found all of the additional tracks very enjoyable with my only negative being that I prefer the original version of Candy. That being said I loved La Fama originally but the live version absolutely slaughters the original. The spirit of the crowd adds to the track so much and Rosalia performing the whole song solo is something to experience. Despecha is also a absolute banger that will be stuck in your head for days with one listen.
I'm not saying the titles of these tracks... At best this thing is eh, at worst it is actually offensive.
AMAZING
I hate to be basic and just compare the music on this project to another artist but I'm gonna do it anyways. Bea's indie alternative style has a similar flavor to Kero Kero Bonito when I listen due to the juxtaposition of sincere sad and sometimes almost depressive lyrics over this very upbeat happy instrumentals. This works very strongly in this albums favor for me however. 10:36 and Talk stand out to me as go to radio bangers, while tracks like the perfect pair and broken cd get more ... read more
Sleeping. The Soundtrack!
No but really, this thing excels at being exceptionally mediocre. There are few highlights like Up All Night, Miss Me, and Find Your Love but the remainder feels quite lackluster. I would love to include Fancy in that list but T.I. really does just ruin that song for me between his B.o.B. playing the guitar line or the inflection on "singer" and "bringer" later in the verse. The highs on Karaoke are also gross. Overall, glad to get this one out of ... read more
I finally got what everyone else was getting about this project. I kept going into this expecting absolute perfection across all angles with how others were describing it but that just isn't the case. That being said, this thing is absolutely commendable though. This is a very solid R&B addition to 2023 showcasing interesting instrumental choices, angelic vocals, and great lyrical content. This project opens with the track "Treason" which doesn't do much other than set the pace ... read more
On the right day Baby is a 100/100 and this thing is not irredeemable teeny bop garbage, This wasn't that day. Glad to defend beebs but Purposes washes this thing any day.
Looking back at this EP there is one thing that truly can be said about it, that being that it really was ahead of it's time in no stretch of the imagination. Quarterbacked by the production of SOPHIE this thing provides a high energy playground to really quickly throw a couple ideas at you and then get out of there. This project starts off with the high energy Vroom Vroom blasting you with 3 hard hitting drums out the gate to get you paying attention. Charli's vocal delivery on this track is ... read more
A classic sure. Cringe at time certainly. Still a good record nonetheless. This thing has it's moments on tracks like My Fault, Cum On Everybody, and I'm Shady where things get very corny almost childish at times but the rest of this project is very solid and has many classics to boot. The song 97 Bonnie & Clyde is certainly a standout track as well with it's story telling being extremely vivid and gut retching at times to the point where I really don't want to keep listening similar to the ... read more
Y'all buggin. This thing is pretty great. There are a lot of lyrics with a sweet but really sassy bordering downright nasty tone to them alongside more sincere tracks. Think Olivia Rodrigo but a little older and also possibly a wanted arsonist.
This thing is an absolute chaotic mess in a good way. The intro does a good job of gripping you with a slow buildup at the beginning of the track leading into a medieval space adventure by the back end. The next handful of tracks lean back and forth between breakcore and metal sounds all having some special elements about them that made them enjoyable for me. Some examples are the waltz like sound of Damaged Wig, the acoustic guitars featured on Absolute Psalm and Cicadidae, or what sounds to ... read more
Very sweet little R&B project here from FIG. I really love a lot of the instrumental choices on this project highlighted especially on the track Honey Filled Skies which has this amazing saxophone just riffing in the background not dominating the track but adding so much extra depth to it. I also really like the closing track Cooking For One instrumentally unfortunately the lyrical content just doesn't do it for me on that track. Outside of the intro track, the remainder of this project ... read more
Another solid release from the group Chokecherry! This track runs much more low energy in comparison to the preluding single release "Glass Jaws" but succeeds at painting a very floaty atmosphere. Really hoping that these recent singles are leading to a full length release in the near future!
Where many remix albums tend to either degrade great albums or enhance lackluster ones, this project stands nicely next to the original.
Best Tracks: Free Woman, Fun Tonight, 911, Replay, Sine From Above

After all these years still a very solid debut from the boyband.

Doja being snarky and weird about her success ain't got no relation to this song being a god damn BANGER!
Speachless. I was so in for the lowkey vibe of the majority of this track but by the end my jaw was laying on the floor next to my cats. Just give this thing a fair listen and if you aren't sold by the first half the ending will do it.
It's Buttrock. It's white trashy. It's the literal definition of mid. I kind of like it.
Side bar: Why does the track "If Everyone Cared" remind me of Scooby Doo Zombie Island?
Edit 03/23/2024 87 -> 92: Yeah post review of the deluxe and I was a little off on this one lol. Basically switch logical and ballad of a homeschool girl with each other.
Initial review of this so allow for some time for my opinion to change on this one. GUTS is a good follow up to her initial project SOUR hitting a lot of the same pockets and subject matter this time throwing a much more angsty teenage flair on top of everything. Where SOUR felt very clean and polished this record feels ... read more
