I don't get the appeal of this at all they guy sounds like if CORPSE was black and made funk music which isn't a good thing
Its everything you need and nothing you don't almost like a Madvilliany or Minor Threat (self titled)
I really dislike *AM*, but this is fantastic. It definitely has The Strokes' sound, but I think they put a fun spin on it. Alex Turner as a vocalist isn't nearly as annoying either. I'm really impressed with this album listen to it even if you don't like Arctic Monkeys.
What is the appeal of this band? It sounds like something off of that awful "A Narrative Soundscape" album

"I love how the comment right under this is praising Olivia. Also you have to understand Olivia isn't really taking herself too seriously. I think she's relatively self-aware that she's just making music for a melancholic teenage audience you don't have to like it because of that but try to be more nuanced."

Sorry for responding like a month later 😶, but I don’t really see how that’s the case. Once again, “Heartbreaker” is on this thing, and that riff can rival pretty much every song in their discography in that department — “When the Levee Breaks,” “The Rover,” etc. “What Is and What Should Never Be,” “The Lemon Song,” and “Whole Lotta Love” are pretty rockin’ as well. Even “Moby Dick,” the instrumental track, opens with a sick riff. I don’t really get this take. Sure, it’s not as lyrically sharp, but that’s a completely different argument. To be honest, I’d argue Led Zeppelin IV is way more tame by comparison"
