Fantastic but not nearly the best roots album like so many people seem to think.
Its J.Cole don't expect much in case you've been living under a rock and haven't listened to this yet
Crazy fucking album Black Thought doesn't open his mouth unless he has amazing bars to spit. Rapping over amazing beats by ?uestlove, maybe it is very slightly bloated? I guess if I had to nitpick?
I think the first half is a bit stronger than the second half that's why this isn't like a 99 or smth

"I love how the comment right under this is praising Olivia. Also you have to understand Olivia isn't really taking herself too seriously. I think she's relatively self-aware that she's just making music for a melancholic teenage audience you don't have to like it because of that but try to be more nuanced."

Sorry for responding like a month later 😶, but I don’t really see how that’s the case. Once again, “Heartbreaker” is on this thing, and that riff can rival pretty much every song in their discography in that department — “When the Levee Breaks,” “The Rover,” etc. “What Is and What Should Never Be,” “The Lemon Song,” and “Whole Lotta Love” are pretty rockin’ as well. Even “Moby Dick,” the instrumental track, opens with a sick riff. I don’t really get this take. Sure, it’s not as lyrically sharp, but that’s a completely different argument. To be honest, I’d argue Led Zeppelin IV is way more tame by comparison"
