Kendrick Lamar - Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers

I gotta be honest, as a long time Kendrick fan I expected more than this. His albums are usually so conceptual and have extremely dense instrumentation, I did not feel that present here in the same way. I’m guessing he feels like he doesn’t need to prove himself by making a grand narrative or whatever, but it just makes me sad. All this album does is make me want to listen to his older material.

The Wombats - Fix Yourself, Not The World

Is this Jordan B. Peterson’s favorite album?

Skee Mask - Compro

Just incredible, otherwordly

Kanye West - Donda (Deluxe)

The album in it's most complete form, but what in the fuck is this tracklist? I'm dumbfounded

THE ANXIETY - Meet Me at Our Spot

This shit is so ass I hate it with a passion

Silk Sonic - An Evening With Silk Sonic

At the risk of sounding like an absolute twat, I think this is merely a soulless bastardization of better soul music that came out over 50 years ago. It really sounds like Prince or Curtis Mayfield were put through a middle-age-white-people or department store filter to create a more commercialized sound. Anderson .Paak still feels as he is pushing the envelope on this record which I appreciate, but the fact is this is just another album in the long line this decade that's reintroducing an ... read more

Dean Blunt - BLACK METAL 2

Such an amazing album, packed with emotion and hazy riffs.

Westside Gunn - Hitler Wears Hermes 8: Side B

WSG has this amazing ability to synthesize Buffalo gangsta culture with European luxury. I've yet to see someone execute this aesthetic so perfectly, both sonically and visually.

Kanye West - Nah Nah Nah

BOY WE WASN'T NEVER NO JOKE

Kanye West - Donda

Good, but not great. When it comes to Ye perfection is expected, and sadly some of these tracks still feel unfinished. We probably have another TLOP situation: "Imma fix Junya" lol.

Post Animal - The Garden Series

Just stellar, the Beatles meet Tame Impala

OTTO - Clam Day

If McDonald's Sprite was an album

The Flaming Lips - Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots

Really fun album, with occasionally some all too on-the-nose lyricism.

A Tribe Called Quest - We got it from Here... Thank You 4 Your service

I mean, it's pretty good? Some of the songs feel underdeveloped with sparser production. I feel like this is kinda overrated.

Pop Smoke - Faith

Most dissapointing kanye feature ever

Hiatus Kaiyote - Mood Valiant

Really solid project, but the third track left me wanting more of a sound that wasn't really present on the remaining tracks.

Tyler, The Creator - CALL ME IF YOU GET LOST

Solid rap project with a few duds. The inclusion of some more trap-oriented rappers as features was very interesting and gave the album some character.

EDIT: My excitement for this wore off very quickly, I don’t think lyricism is very impressive nor the production, except for the beat that was straight copied of Westside Gunn. I’d like to add that JUGGERNAUT is the most overrated song on here.

cLOUDDEAD - cLOUDDEAD

I only listened to Apt 1 & 2, but wtf is this rapping? It sounds so bad, their delivery likens that of frat girls freestyling super awkwardly. Does it get better later on?

"I made an account for this. What the hell are you talking about? The production is incredibly lush, and they were layered and composed by Four Tet. You don't know what you are talking about. Just because Bandana was produced majorly on an iPad doesn't mean you can use such an asinine argument for this album as well. "
