Really interesting take on IDM with all these classical vibes with it, making it sound kind of classy IDM(? I don't think that explanation makes sense at all...
It just sounds really orchestral and complex at some point. Is really interesting how he takes strings, violins and other elements from a more classic contemporary and fusions it with this experimentation that blends really smoothly playing with tensions and different rhythms.
All of this forms really interesting fusions of sounds ... read more

This is huge. It just mashes all these elements of IDM, jazz, electronic music, retro and dance; and forms this mind-blowing experience.

Doom... This mf lands this album on this earth and makes the sickest bars with... Food. Food. And it all flows like butter and works exceptionally.
You see, he good. These beats are just great, making all sense with these food references that are presented all over the album. Also, he flows on these just incredible, his delivery is amazing, the bars are godlike and it just affirms that Doom was one of the best (if not the best) rapper on 2000s.

MF Doom and Madlib arrives with this character and these comedically amazing bars, plus Madlib's godlike samples and one of the best flows ever on Doom, it forms this masterpiece for rap.
The songs are all long enough to enjoy everything of them without fatiguing or making the experience "specially boring"; at contrary, they shine with all they have. Is incredibly amazing how there's that much well on a set of 22, 2 minute-ish tracks; I mean, it's Doom.

Well... This is adventurous and incredibly perfect.
It just blends all this chaos and makes it an amazingly well put together concept and sound.
She comes and does something that doesn't sound like anything I've heard ever before, mixing so many styles and concepts that works so well.
The lyrical work and narrative in this album... Is one of the best written albums I've listened in a long time, giving such an emotion to each line she says and express that anger and power in each song, and ... read more
Not many words for this one. Is just undoubtedly the best instrumental hip hop ever made.
So much variety, incredible beats and perfect application on the sampling concept, just perfect. So sad he just died before releasing this album man...
R.I.P. James D. Yancey, you did it. You made history with this album, really.
Yup. Is that good to me.
This album flows like anything I've listened in the decade and made so minimalistic, subtle and at the same time, so varied and inmersive.
Starting from "Nespole" and "Silhouettes", mixing organics with synthetics flawlessly and blending smoothly into the more synth-heavy and more ambiental songs like "Elaenia", "Argente" and "Thin Air", it demonstrates how all of these takes on the music can really blend this ... read more
Woah, MK. This album really does shine.
It's such an engaging, inmersive, delicate and melancholic trip that really knows how to take electronic music, get more organic with it and make it a great set of electronic takes on such unique concepts that it works with.
Going between a set of melancholic takes on tracks like Blue Train Lines and We Go Home Together, to a more ambient-ish sound on tracks like Four Years And One Day, and the master craftsmanship of T.A.M.E.D; is unbelievable how it ... read more
Really great 180 flip on Shlohmo's style to a raw and vivid mix of modern hip hop, electronic and punk elements that makes it a great, unique listen.
With the first half as a hard-hitting mix of heavy guitars and dark, bassy beats; and the second half as a big cooldown moment that goes really calm and ambient-ish sound that mixes the old style of the artist with this chaotic element that brings this album together, it sure is a great album to end this year and an upgrade from what Shlohmo has ... read more
Great obscure ambient music that reflects in its quality, how it moves from start to finish, and getting over various styles and genres, still maintaining its style, and keeping it interesting all the way. This is a demonstration of how versatile of an artist Daedelus is.
