One of the more uniquely produced R&B projects with solidified classics, but Bobby lacks some of the songwriting elements to really make the project pop for me.
Insane how a staple of music like the Guitar is still finding ways to sound fresh in different artists hands.
It’s honestly so sad seeing how Roddys fumbling his near superstardom from 2020 to pulling a Carti.
Lexa found a great pocket for her to excel in, of which it definitely gets a bit repetitive at the end, but it’s still a fun listen. One of the horrifically underrated Female Rappers.
Kenny Lofton is a lowkey classic fs, but just a good little collection of Born Sinner B-Sides.
It’s insane how different Cole sounds here, but it’s very endearing even if it isn’t the greatest quality wise.
I’m honestly very disappointed that I didn’t click with this. Solange has a great voice, but I feel like it clashes with her production wayyy too much at times. Lowkey might’ve hyped myself up too much for this, but I still got her previous project to listen to at least.
There are standouts, but those aren’t as big of hits as albums past for me. The album kind of gets into a slog and although it isn’t bad, it’s can get boring. I got really hyped for the project after the opener, but unfortunately it was the climax for me.
Although lyrically poignant, I’m still not really connecting sonically with their sound. They go through some pretty interesting topics and have very unique flows though.
RIP Groggs ποΈ
The LP was neither of the two genres I was expecting based on the artists name (didn’t think it was a band either) but I had a pretty pleasant time with it.
Mac’s pen starts to rear its head a bit here, but he struggles to put it to a good sounding track. He goes a bit too hard on the party and fun guy aesthetic imo.
I like the choice to let Zach’s more rough vocals shine in comparison to how super polished country has gotten.
Was saving this one for a rainy day, but with the Fall-Off fast approaching I gotta complete the discography before 2/6.
This is a mixed bag of classics and pretty poor tracks, but I don’t think I could see anyone else besides J Cole making these songs to be honest.
This went triple platinum in my and my grandparents households so I can absolutely overlook its pretty glaring faults.
I really like Dominic’s voice but it just didn’t come together in a nice way for me overall.
