Here, Tom basically plays the role of Stan from the South Park episode where Randy says the you-know-what word (before Stan realizes what he was doin wrong). He thinks he understands the struggles of a race he isn’t a part of by looking at their stereotypes because he doesn’t truly know what racial discrimination feels like. In the South Park episode, Stan continually claims that he understands Token’s occasional struggles that can come with living as an African American, but ... read more
“7” has strong tracks here and there, but it’s too bad that 50% of them are Old Town Road tracks. Lil Nas X really seems to struggle with creating more auto-crooner pop-rap songs on this EP, which is a shame, considering that his past mixtape shows that he has a lot of potential. Hopefully, the confusing genre-bending on this EP doesn’t appear on his later projects.

While the instrumentals are decent, every other part of this EP falls flat. The lyrics really drag this album down, and it’s probably one of the more boring listens I’ve had this year.
Favorite Track: MOTHER’S DAUGHTER
Least Favorite Track: CATTITUDE; every feature on this fucking thing
“Shorty jumping in the front row; I put her face on my wood like a totem pole.”
Bruh.
It’s ok.
Edit: In all seriousness, I do love this album a lot. I’m not giving it a 100 because I think it’s perfect or anything; I’m giving it a score that high because I get endless amounts of enjoyment out of listening to it. Hopefully, people on this website, among other rating websites, don’t reserve their scores for albums that are objectively flawless (even though Remain In Light may be perfect). 100s should be given to any album that impacts a person in a ... read more
After hearing the two singles for this album (NOBODY; ON THE SQUARE), I was pretty excited to see where Mac would take this album. But, after sitting through this project for several times, I can’t bring myself to like it.
Each track feels way too lackadaisical in regards to their instrumentation. They begin and fade out without ever really grabbing your attention in the first place. I appreciate Mac’s lyrics about feeling like a worn out idol who doesn’t belong in the ... read more
“ZUU” suffers from what many trap albums also struggle with: A strong start and a weaker second half. But, it is Denzel Curry, so it doesn’t suffer that much. Fin.
Favorite Tracks: RICKY; WISH; BIRDZ; SPEEDBOAT; SHAKE 88; P.A.T.
Least Favorite Track: AUTOMATIC
Why do all the beats sound like the same one, but slightly different on each track? Really, this EP feels so homogenous and uninteresting. EPs (and LPs too, for that matter) should vary a lot in regards to how each track sounds. If every song on the project sounds the same, then the whole thing will sound like one long, boring, drawn-out track (just like this album).
Favorite Track: ALIENS ARE GHOSTS
Least Favorite Track: DON’T TRUST ANYONE!
On Tyler’s latest album, the odd, pitchy singing and occasionally messy production is excused by the project’s overall message and themes. Every track flows nicely into the next, and all in all, this feels like Tyler’s most realized effort yet.
Favorite Tracks: EARFQUAKE; I THINK; NEW MAGIC WAND; A BOY IS A GUN; PUPPET; WHAT’S GOOD; GONE, GONE / THANK YOU; ARE WE STILL FRIENDS?
Least Favorite Track: RUNNING OUT OF TIME
Injury Reserve’s debut studio LP is an exciting, unpredictable, and fun listen, but there are several spots that I find quite odd compared with the rest of the album. The second half of GTFU feels weird compared with the other half’s noisy atmosphere, and NEW HAWAII feels too slow at points. But the rest of the album is very well-meshed together. I guess my main complaint for IR is that their album structure is starting to feel by-the-numbers; this album feels like it’s trying ... read more
Out of all the Radiohead albums I’ve listened to thus far (like 5, I’m sleeping, I know) this is the first to be instantly perfect after my first listen. Each track blends into each other beautifully, without feeling like its own ideas are recycled over and over again. Now, I’m not saying “OK” and “Kid A” are repetitive (they aren’t), but In Rainbows feels more like an open-and-shut story than their previous masterful albums. It feels so ... read more
Saying that this album is Logic’s “Revival” is a perfect way of describing it. Even after two excruciating listens, I can’t really make heads or tails of what the underlying message should be. Is this supposed to be a warning to those seeking fame in life, or a braggadocious set of tracks about how Logic can say any dumbass set of words in a song and make it sound cool because of his flow?
Whatever the message is, I don’t really care, because the shitty hooks ... read more
This latest EP-mixtape-project-thing from Rico Nasty and Kenny Beats is fun while it is on, but I don’t really see myself coming back to it in the future, aside from returning to some of the more hard-hitting tracks.
Favorite Tracks: COLD; CHEAT CODE; HATIN; BIG TITTIES
Least Favorite Track: MOOD
Sorry, but I couldn’t really get into this one.
Aside from some catchy and melodically interesting songs, this album drags on in a very boring, monotonous way, to the point where most tracks feel like filler deep cuts. It’s a homogenous blend of familiarity, with occasional diamonds few and far between.
Favorite Tracks: BROKEN BOY; SOCIAL CUES; HOUSE OF GLASS; LOVE’S THE ONLY WAY; GOODBYE
Least Favorite Tracks: NIGHT RUNNING; DANCE DANCE
Holy shit, this album’s nuts. It’s a perfect blend between complexity and simplicity. The monotone vocals over the sometimes twangy, sometimes gruff guitars, and the constantly-changing time signatures all combine into a mysterious and creepy experience that seems to hold its meaning deep down within itself. To me, it’s an album about insecurities and flaws. Whether it would be Don’s anxiety (DON, AMAN) or the Captain’s guilt (GOOD MORNING, CAPTAIN), the album has ... read more
Thank you for the drug PSA Lil Barnacle! I’ll never do crack again!

On “Cuz I Love You,” Lizzo uses the best of her powerful vocals to deliver a satisfying pop album, although my enjoyment of it started to drain away by the last leg of the project. The first four tracks seem to be the peak of the album as a whole, with several gems later, but that doesn’t prevent it from being worth the ride.
P.S. Don’t worry Lizzo I make my own music please don’t make me unemployed this job is all I have.

Quelle Chris’ “Guns” is a refreshing conscious hip hop album that explores the United States’ close relationship to guns and power, while applying close attention to other issues like drugs and mental illness. Chris’ comical attitude (that is present on most of the record) is nicely juxtaposed with his darker, more personal side that is present on tracks like STRAIGHT SHOT, and it all together makes the album feel like a healing mechanism for the pain we experience ... read more
Oops I slept.
Yeah, this album isn’t bad at all. I’d say it’s a well-rounded pop album that seems to work as an addendum to “Sweetener,” but nothing too revolutionary for Ariana. I’d have to say that I appreciate the more personal tracks than the radio-friendly tracks, but overall, it’s definitely an enjoyable album overall.
