It's just called MMLP2 because it's almost like a sequel to the original one with some stories on some songs are continuing etc. but some how people thought it should sound exactly like the original and be as good as the original one in every aspect. THe quality is not the thing that would make something a sequel, the connection between contents does.
I agree this one was out of touch with where popular hip hop music was heading to. Hell, at the time, I felt like this album full of old sounds and samples was a fresh breath of air when it came out because the industry was dominated by trap beats. But ofc, people didn't feel it, I always felt like there was something other than just not liking the sound of the album behind the hatred.
The album had to many fillers, few relationship songs where he visits similar topics. Too many pop ... read more
Let's not judge it for more than what it was suppossed to be. I can see the haters are doing exactly that. The Ringer, arguably Em at his best getting 65 rating is more than enough for me to see that. It's what I'd expect by Em to retaliate after the backlash of Revival. This kind of thing was what he was loved and famous for.
Alright, I didn't really separate this one from the side A but it think 90 is an appropiate rating for it. First of all, MTBMB as a whole is the best project Em had done since he came back from hiatus in 09. The lyricism is always there and never the question with Em. Same can be said about content too even though he falls into old ones, remake them but the thing is you can't wash in the same river twice. There is water under the bridge and anytime he talks about a topic he already did before, ... read more

Classic. No doubt about it. And no, I never ever overrated an artist because she/he died tragically. I hear the music for what it is and this pure, very enjoyable, full of vibes art to me. This is the contemporary R&B mashed with jazz and soul at its best. Amazing album.
Problems was a gem for me. Wild For The Night aged terribly but still this was a very impressive project where ASAP's hallmarks were all over it as we were just discovering them...
Maybe doesn't live up to the previous work in terms of hip hop but musically, it's still strong as ever if not even better.
Such an amazing work of art. Q-Tip's flows, lyrics, his vibes are very enjoyable to me. Boom bap hip hop mixed with jazzy and soulful tunes. Maybe the hip hop at his best judging by the musical content and the overall sound.
Nice vibes, nice rhythms and melodies. Nothing that made go back and relisten to it but Let Her Go was a perfect gem for me which got stuck on replay for long time.
What can you say about a classic. 50 at his best. Unfortunately, he started to fade away slowly with every other drop after this one.
Some would say this album was already an huge decline from his debut but I beg to differ. The hits on this one is as strong as the ones on his debut and he still had some captivating lyricism, vibe and content. It's very close to his debut.
The beats, flows and nice hip hop music to bump your head to is there, I'll give you that but it's almost sounds like he had very little passion in him towards creating music. Almost feels as if he formulized the hits he had back then and tried to apply them over some songs such as Ok You're Right etc. but it usually feels luckluster. Some gems there like So Disrespectful (production wise). In overall, it's just an album to bump in the car while driving from time to time maybe skipping a few ... read more
Animal Ambition ?... No ambition left inside 50 to drive him to do music anymore whatsoever. So except a nice sounding song with a nice beat like Smoke, nothing to cherish here for me ( a huge fan of his earlier work.)
I don't care much for posthumous albums of the artists but it's 2pac and the whole album was produced by Eminem. Unjustified hater critical reviews aside, I think this was a good album considering the fact that it sounds like what it should have been. What I mean is, the beats Em made are there sounding like they were made by Em. Shady artists and Em associated artists are all over it. It wasn't meant to sound like an original pac album anyway. I think this is one of the best posthumous pac ... read more
Another guilty pleasure of mine by Stevie. It's Stevie Wonder with 80's popular sound. And I thought he pulled it off pretty nicely.
Unpopular opinion, to me this is his 2nd best album, but I wouldn't argue against other choices anyway.
Best album by Stevie. And what is more impressive, it's a double album. So many gems, hits on this one. I always liked Pasttime Paradise a lot when i was a kid without even understanding a single word and later on, the whole content of the song meant so much. Might be the best song by him. Sir Duke, I Wish, Ebony Eyes, Isn't She Lovely are all catchy, beautiful and very artistic hits. I can't praise this album enough. One of the best albums ever created and the first one that I'd advise to ... read more
