Really great album. Immensely satisfying and has a lot of different types of songs, and surprisingly has a lot of emotion packed into it. Those who are a fan of Trinity by Eartheater will also be a fan of this album, they share a lot of similarities.
TOP 3 SONGS: Um Um, Luci, Effeminacy
Incredibly wonky and warpy stuff.
TOP 3 SONGS: Clown, Ledge, Giggle
It's a really well put together synth pop album. Her vocals are amazing.
TOP 3 SONGS: Flicker, I Saw God, God Complex
I already love this show and I already love Baths so it comes together very nicely for me. I typically don't care as much for ambient stuff (which is why this ranking is not higher) but it was still really nice.
TOP 3 SONGS: What's Your Favorite Color?, Space Lullaby, Attack And Counterattack
This album is nuts. Both in length (23 songs) and style (chaotic as hell) and I'm living for it. It has a handful of absolutely fantastic songs but also with the fact that there's 23 means there's also some I just don't really care about at all, which drags it down a bit. JACKIE EXTREME draws a lot of influence from Crystal Castles (which is evident as she's sampled them in the past) and adjacent witch house sounds, while having hyperpop style vocals, and the combination of the two makes an ... read more
My favourite Gorillaz songs are the more chill pop-adjacent ones, often with a melancholic vibe, such as the ones found on "The Now Now" and this album matches stylistically with that one closer than any of their other work so naturally it's become one of my favourites.
TOP 3 SONGS: Skinny Ape, The Tired Influencer, Possession Island
It's got a really warm inviting feeling, much akin to a Porter Robinson record. It's definitely one of my favourite albums of the year.
TOP 3 SONGS: Human Nature, Emotions, Fade Out
It has a lot of really interesting sounds but I feel like it stays in it's lane a bit too much for the most part which drags it down a bit for me. I wish the progression within each song was more interesting, but that might just be a me thing. It was still a pretty good listen
TOP 3 SONGS: Calcium, Gobsmack, Cat Got Your Tongue
Really truly harrowing music. Lorn manages to convey a dystopian nightmare exceptionally well.
TOP 3 SONGS: Acid Rain, Negative Jumpsuit, Entangled
Say what you want about grimes and everything she's done now, but this album is still an absolutely great collection of electro pop songs.
TOP 3 SONGS: Venus Fly, Kill V Maim, Butterfly
yeule's sophomore album is slightly worse than her first album, but when her first album is my most played album of all time, "slightly worse" actually means "incredibly phenomenal"
TOP 3 SONGS: Bites On My Neck, Too Dead Inside, Mandy
I get that it's a little bit one note but not every album needs to have a super cohesive crazy unique story to tell, sometimes you just need to have bangers for the sake of having bangers and personally I think this album accomplishes that exceptionally well.
TOP 3 SONGS: Paradise, None, Thos Moser
The second best bubblegum bass album out there, only losing to SOPHIE's.
TOP 3 SONGS: Beautiful, Attachment, Laplander
Really summery synth pop. All the songs flow really well into each other and honestly I think this is handily ionna lee's best album. It took me a couple listens to truly understand but once I did understand I fell in love.
TOP 3 SONGS: shadowshow, fountain, vista
Bye Bye Macadam may be Rone's best song but this is his most overall great album for me. It's has both really exciting pumped up big buildup tracks and some really haunting shit, and neither of them feel out of place as they all feel wrapped in this sort of mysteriousness.
TOP 3 SONGS: Down For The Cause, Wave, Mirapolis
Incredibly pretty, and some of the warmest dream pop out there.
TOP 3 SONGS: I Love You, Butterfly, Twilight
I adore this album and I personally think it's Nosaj's best work. This sort of Lo-fi electronic can often lead to a lot of really boring tracks but not only do I find basically every single one on this album interesting and captivating, they all flow together incredibly well.
TOP 3 SONGS: Fog, Caves, 1685/Bach
