The highs of this are way way above anything they released at that point in time. There are still some meh track mixed in here though.
This ain't anything close to a comeback. Somehow Donda was way more focused and a better listen while being twice the length of this. For every song that is OK (and let's be honest the highs are nowhere near close to other Kanye albums), there are 2-3 that have horrible production, are way too short or have Kanye spitting some dumb shit. I dread to think what this would look like without Ty Dolla $ign but I guess we have Donda 2 to answer that.
Way too repetitive and barebones, slash the runtime of most tracks in half and you're not really losing anything. Plus personally, I'm not the fan of the 'crunchyness' that most racks have. Does not sound human at all.
It's alright, just not very memorable or interesting. I don't see myself listening to this after this review.
The last of the 'early' Beatles albums - a mixed bag of run of the mill rock songs and some great songs sprinkled throughout. Hard to differentiate from their previous albums.
Just a taaaad too long. A good number of songs here are truly spectacular, but some of them aren't too interesting and are just 'there'. Removing 5-6 tracks would do wonders here, but nonetheless, I'll be playing Splendor, Wait, Outro and of course Midnight City often.
It's all over the place (in a good way) and while some songs are truly forgettable, this is the best modern Gorillaz album.
It's definitely a vibe. I felt melancholic while listening to this for the first time and not a lot of albums make me feel this way.
A bit better than the first two Beatles albums in terms of songwriting and diversity. Still feels like their 'early days' though.
The first album was enjoyable but faltered at times due to trying to be too 'quirky' for me. Glad to say this one is more focused and has an overall more cohesive and enjoyable sound.
An easy to listen to indie record. Most of the songs here are catchy even if a bit samey.
Look, I love Discovery and RAM, but this is just not a good album to listen through for me. Yes, it revolutionized house music and all of this probably sounds great in a club, but do most of these 7-minute songs deserve their length? I wouldn't say so. Not to mention some songs like 'Rock'n'roll' and 'Rollin' & Scratchin' are straight up painful to listen to on headphones. I can appreciate the ideas here and some songs are truly great, but I'll stick to the later albums when I want some ... read more
